But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

惟指以色列民、則曰、我終日舉手、招悖逆有違言之民矣、

其言以色列人曰、我終日舉手、勸不信非我之民矣、

其言言或作語以色列、則曰、我終日伸手、招不信服而違逆之民、

而於義塞人則曰：『我終日舉手以招斯民、而斯民頑強、不肯回頭。』

But concerning Israel he says,“ All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and obstinate people.”

But Isaiah also speaks about what God says concerning Israel. God said,“ All day long I have held out my hands. I have held them out to a stubborn people who do not obey me.”( Isaiah 65:2)

But of Israel he says,“ All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”

But regarding Israel, God said,“ All day long I opened my arms to them, but they were disobedient and rebellious.”

But to Israel he says, All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and defiant people.

But as for Israel, He says,“ I have spread out My hands all day long to a disobedient and obstinate people.”

But to Israel he says:“ All day long I have stretched out My hands To a disobedient and contrary people.”

But as to Israel he saith, All the day long did I spread out my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

But to Israel he says: All day long I have spread out My hands to a disobedient and defiant people.

But about Israel he says,“ All day long I held out my hands to this disobedient and stubborn people!”

I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way[ that was] not good, after their own thoughts;A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine’s flesh, and broth of abominable[ things is in] their vessels;Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These[ are] a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending[ them], saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.

For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man[ that is] an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right,[ that] shall ye receive.So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them[ their] hire, beginning from the last unto the first.And when they came that[ were hired] about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.And when they had received[ it], they murmured against the goodman of the house,Saying, These last have wrought[ but] one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?Take[ that] thine[ is], and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?

Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death?

Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.

Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.And they caught him, and cast[ him] out of the vineyard, and slew[ him].When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out[ his] vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.For so hath the Lord commanded us,[ saying], I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations.

And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence,[ even to them] which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending[ them], saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.Wherefore my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted[ and] desolate, as at this day.

And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and[ my] fatlings[ are] killed, and all things[ are] ready: come unto the marriage.But they made light of[ it], and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:And the remnant took his servants, and entreated[ them] spitefully, and slew[ them].But when the king heard[ thereof], he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

Furthermore the LORD spake unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it[ is] a stiffnecked people:

Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers[ did], so[ do] ye.Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending[ them]; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.

Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and[ some] of them ye shall kill and crucify; and[ some] of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute[ them] from city to city:That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,[ thou] that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under[ her] wings, and ye would not!
