但是我說，以色列難道不明白麼？先有摩西說：『我要激動你們羨妒那不是國民的，我要惹動你們氣忿那蒙昧的國民。』

我再说，以色列人不知道吗？先有摩西说：“我要用那不成子民的，惹动你们的愤恨；我要用那无知的民，触动你们的怒气。”

我再问，以色列人不知道吗？先有摩西说：“我要以不成国的激起你们嫉妒；我要以愚顽的国惹起你们发怒。”

我再问，以色列人不知道吗？先有摩西说：“我要以不成国的激起你们嫉妒；我要以愚顽的国惹起你们发怒。”

我再问，难道以色列人不知道吗？首先，摩西说：“我要借无名之民挑起你们的嫉妒，用愚昧的国民激起你们的怒气。”

我再说：以色列人真的不明白吗？首先，摩西说：“我要使你们对那不是子民的生嫉妒，对那无知的民族起忿怒。”

我再说“以色列人难道不明白吗？”首先，摩西说：“我要用不是子民的，激起你们的嫉妒之心，用无知的民族激起你们的怒气。”

我再說，以色列人不知道嗎？先有摩西說：我要用那不成子民的惹動你們的憤恨；我要用那無知的民觸動你們的怒氣。

我再問，以色列人不知道嗎？先有摩西說：「我要以不成國的激起你們嫉妒；我要以愚頑的國惹起你們發怒。」

我再問，以色列人不知道嗎？先有摩西說：「我要以不成國的激起你們嫉妒；我要以愚頑的國惹起你們發怒。」

我再問，難道以色列人不知道嗎？首先，摩西說：「我要藉無名之民挑起你們的嫉妒，用愚昧的國民激起你們的怒氣。」

我再說：以色列人真的不明白嗎？首先，摩西說：“我要使你們對那不是子民的生嫉妒，對那無知的民族起忿怒。”

我再說「以色列人難道不明白嗎？」首先，摩西說：「我要用不是子民的，激起你們的嫉妒之心，用無知的民族激起你們的怒氣。」

我又曰、以色列民豈未知乎、昔摩西云、我將以異族發爾憤、且將以蚩氓觸爾怒、

余又曰、以色列人、豈未知乎、昔摩西曰、我將子異民、使爾發奮、子頑民、使爾激勵、

我又曰、以色列人豈未知乎、昔摩西曰、我將以異民、激爾嫉妒、將以愚民、激爾忿怒、

然則義塞人果未悟耶？摩西書曰：『吾將子異民、使爾激勵；子頑民、使爾發憤。』

Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says,“ I will make you envious by those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding.”

Again I ask,“ Didn’t Israel understand?” First, Moses says,“ I will use people who are not a nation to make you jealous. I will use a nation that has no understanding to make you angry.”( Deuteronomy 32:21)

But I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says,“ I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; with a foolish nation I will make you angry.”

But I ask, did the people of Israel really understand? Yes, they did, for even in the time of Moses, God said,“ I will rouse your jealousy through people who are not even a nation. I will provoke your anger through the foolish Gentiles.”

But I ask,“ Did Israel not understand?” First, Moses said, I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that lacks understanding.

But I say, surely Israel did not know, did they? First Moses says,“ I will make you jealous with those who are not a nation, With a foolish nation I will anger you.”

But I say, did Israel not know? First Moses says:“ I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation, I will move you to anger by a foolish nation.”

But I say, Did Israel not know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation, With a nation void of understanding will I anger you.

But I ask,“ Did Israel not understand?” First, Moses said: I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that lacks understanding.

But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by[ them that are] no people,[ and] by a foolish nation I will anger you.

But again I ask, didn’t Israel understand? First Moses says,“ I will make you jealous by those who are not a nation; with a senseless nation I will provoke you to anger.”

But I ask, didn’t Israel know? First Moses says,“ I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation. I will make you angry with a nation void of understanding.”

他們呢、以那不是神的激了我的妒憤，以虛無的神惹了我發怒；我呢、也必以那不是子民的激他們的妒忌，以愚昧的外國人惹他們的憤恨。

那麼我要說，難道他們猶太人失了腳，是要全然跌倒麼？斷乎不是。我乃是說，因他們的過犯、拯救便臨到了外國人，好激動他們的羨妒。

或者可以激動我骨肉之親的羨妒，來救他們一些人。

因為我們從前也是無知、悖逆、受了迷惑，做各種私慾和宴樂的奴僕，在惡毒和嫉妒中度生活，滿有恨心，彼此相恨。

你們從前不是子民，如今卻是上帝的子民；從前沒有蒙憐恤，如今卻蒙了憐恤。

他們不知道，也不明白，因為他們的眼被塗抹了，以致不能看見，他們的心蒙蔽了，以致不能了解。沒有一個人心裏回悟過來，也沒有一個有知識有聰明能夠說：「木頭的一半我已經燒在火中，我也曾在其炭火上烤過餅，烤過肉喫；難道其剩下的我還要作一座可厭惡之像！我還要向樹木頭叩拜！」嘿，以爐灰為食的人！被愚弄的心使他偏行了；他不能援救自己，也不能說：『莫非我右手中有虛假？』

但是我說，人們難道沒有聽見麼？誠然聽見了：『他們的音響、發出於全地，他們的話語、傳到天下之極邊。』

這一點、弟兄們、我卻要說：時期縮短了。今後有妻子的、要像沒有一樣；

人都等於畜類，毫無知識；銀匠都因雕像而慚愧；因為鑄象都是虛假，裏面並無氣息。

弟兄們，這一點我要說：肉與血不能承受上帝的國，朽壞也不能承受不朽壞。

我必為自己將他種在這地。我必憐憫不蒙憐憫；我必對非我民說：「你乃是我人民」；而他也必說：「你乃是我的上帝。」』

因為他們雖然認識上帝，卻不看他為上帝而榮耀他，也不感謝他，反倒在思想上成為虛妄，他們蒙昧的心就昏暗了。他們自稱為有智慧，反而成了愚拙，

拜偶像的人一概是畜類、是愚頑，是虛無神所指教的：那神不過是木頭，

那我是說甚麼呢？是說祭偶像之物算得了甚麼呢？還是說偶像算得了甚麼呢？

我說的是：你們各人說：「我是宗保羅的」，「我是宗亞波羅的」，「我是宗磯法的」，「我是宗基督的」。

你們知道、你們還未信教的時候、怎樣被帶走，隨事受牽引、去拜不能出聲的偶像。

好在現今的時期做他救人之義的明證，來顯明他自己為義，也是叫信耶穌的人得以稱義的。

他們有口、卻不能說話；有眼、卻不能看；有耳、卻不能聽；有鼻、卻不能聞；有手、卻不能摸；有腳、卻不能走路；也不能用喉嚨出聲。造它們的、正和它們一樣；凡倚靠它們的、正如它們一般。

難道你們沒有家可以喫喝麼？還是你們輕看上帝的教會，讓那些沒有的慚愧啊？我對你們可怎麼說呢？可在這事上稱讚你們麼？我不稱讚。
