How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

耶穌曰、爾曹往普天下、傳福音與萬民、信而受洗者得救、不信者定罪、

及時昭著、我奉救主上帝命、以傳斯道、

曰、如記所言、基督當受害、三日復生、使託其名、以傳悔改赦罪之道、自耶路撒冷、至於萬國、

蓋爾聞而受教、順耶穌真理、

篤信而祈、得主醫之、疾可瘳、雖素有罪、亦蒙矜宥、

今我遣爾至以色列民、及異邦有害汝者、吾拯爾、俾明厥目、轉暗為光、離撒但勢、歸於上帝、使眾信我、可得罪赦、同獲聖徒之業、

惟主左右我、剛健我、使我足傳道、俾異邦人聞之、我得救出於獅口、

惟上帝能堅爾曹、從我所傳耶穌基督之福音、亦從上古未言之奧、今以先知之書昭著、遵永生上帝命、示異邦使之信服、

吾儕沾其恩、受使徒職、令諸異邦信服、而尊其名、

尼尼微人信上帝、使眾自尊逮卑、禁食衣麻、尼尼微王聞言下位、解衣衣麻、坐於塗炭。王與諸侯出諭、遍尼尼微邑曰、人與六畜牛羊、俱勿食糧、飲水、俱必衣麻、懇籲上帝、眾當去惡、勿虐人民、庶幾上帝或回厥志、而息其怒、使我不亡。

曰、我希百來人、素所敬畏者、天上之上帝耶和華、陸地滄海、皆其所造、今欲去耶和華駐蹕之所、逃避於外。眾聞言則懼、曰、何可去也。又曰、今海震盪愈甚、當若何待爾、則風浪可息。

苟不信、不能為上帝所悅、蓋謁上帝之人、必信有上帝、賞賚夫求之者、

曰、不有啟發、安能知之、遂請腓力登車同乘、

第載此、使爾信耶穌為上帝子基督、信則賴其名而得生、

爾曹信後、曾受聖神否、曰、聖神降否、我未之聞也、

舟子恐懼、各求其上帝、盡棄所載以輕舟、約拿假寐於艙、

如有賓旅、不屬於以色列族、聞爾名譽、知爾大能巨力、自遠方來、至於斯殿、祈求於爾、

舟人由是甚畏耶和華、獻祭輸願、
