through whom we received grace and apostleship, unto obedience of faith among all the nations, for his name’s sake;

Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake.

We received grace because of what Jesus did. He made us apostles to the Gentiles. We must invite all of them to obey God by trusting in Jesus. We do this to bring glory to him.

through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations,

Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name.

But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles and kings, and the children of Israel:

but now is manifested, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, is made known unto all the nations unto obedience of faith:

if so be that ye have heard of the dispensation of that grace of God which was given me to you- ward;how that by revelation was made known unto me the mystery, as I wrote before in few words,whereby, when ye read, ye can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ;which in other generations was not made known unto the sons of men, as it hath now been revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;to wit, that the Gentiles are fellow- heirs, and fellow- members of the body, and fellow- partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power.Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;and to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery which for ages hath been hid in God who created all things;

But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:who in time past were no people, but now are the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

For of his fulness we all received, and grace for grace.

Or is God the God of Jews only? is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yea, of Gentiles also:

( for he that wrought for Peter unto the apostleship of the circumcision wrought for me also unto the Gentiles);and when they perceived the grace that was given unto me, James and Cephas and John, they who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship, that we should go unto the Gentiles, and they unto the circumcision;

not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God;who also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

to the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved:

( for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds);casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience, when your obedience shall be made full.

Symeon hath rehearsed how first God visited the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

But cursed be the deceiver, who hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a blemished thing; for I am a great King, saith Jehovah of hosts, and my name is terrible among the Gentiles.
