And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,

“ Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord,“ When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely And do justice and righteousness in the land.In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will live securely; And this is His name by which He will be called,‘ The Lord Our Righteousness.’

and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is, Jesus who rescues us from the wrath to come.

The angel answered and said to her,“ The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; for that reason also the holy Child will be called the Son of God.

I and the Father are one.”

Nathanael answered Him,“ Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel!”

And behold, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.”

Thomas answered and said to Him,“ My Lord and my God!”

God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of armies will accomplish this.

So because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his descendants on his throne,

“ I will announce the decree of the Lord: He said to Me,‘ You are My Son, Today I have fathered You.

Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel,

His descendants shall endure forever, And his throne as the sun before Me.It shall be established forever like the moon, And a witness in the sky is faithful.” Selah

Jacob fathered Joseph the husband of Mary, by whom Jesus was born, who is called the Messiah.

And I will make enemies Of you and the woman, And of your offspring and her Descendant; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise Him on the heel.”

“ And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: The Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and feet like burnished bronze, says this:

“ On that day I will raise up the fallen shelter of David, And wall up its gaps; I will also raise up its ruins And rebuild it as in the days of old;

but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that by believing you may have life in His name.

After He had removed him, He raised up David to be their king, concerning whom He also testified and said,‘ I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who will do all My will.’From the descendants of this man, according to promise, God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus,

And all the crowds were amazed and were saying,“ This man cannot be the Son of David, can he?”

For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters;and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

“ What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is He?” They* said to Him,“ The son of David.”He* said to them,“ Then how does David in the Spirit call Him‘ Lord,’ saying,‘ The Lord said to my Lord,“ Sit at My right hand, Until I put Your enemies under Your feet” ’?Therefore, if David calls Him‘ Lord,’ how is He his son?”

And I myself have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of God.”

the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.

Truly, truly, I say to you, a time is coming and even now has arrived, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him,“ I place You under oath by the living God, to tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.”

“ For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation:

Now Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,in order to register along with Mary, who was betrothed to him, and was pregnant.While they were there, the time came for her to give birth.

He has trusted in God; let God rescue Him now, if He takes pleasure in Him; for He said,‘ I am the Son of God.’ ”

then I would reject the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, so as not to take from his descendants rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But I will restore their fortunes and have mercy on them.’ ”

And a Canaanite woman from that region came out and began to cry out, saying,“ Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely demon possessed.”

And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.

are you saying of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,‘ You are blaspheming,’ because I said,‘ I am the Son of God’?

For God, whom I serve in my spirit in the preaching of the gospel of His Son, is my witness as to how unceasingly I make mention of you,

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves the child born of Him.

and immediately he began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, saying,“ He is the Son of God.”

As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch* said,“ Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?”

As Jesus went on from there, two men who were blind followed Him, crying out,“ Have mercy on us, Son of David!”

Jesse fathered David the king. David fathered Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah.

And has raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of His servant David—

and behold, a voice from the heavens said,“ This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

Who is the one who overcomes the world, but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch of David sprout; and He shall execute justice and righteousness on the earth.In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety; and this is the name by which it will be called: the Lord is our righteousness.’For this is what the Lord says:‘ David shall not lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;

The Father loves the Son and has entrusted all things to His hand.The one who believes in the Son has eternal life; but the one who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”

Has the Scripture not said that the Christ comes from the descendants of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?”

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus, the one whom you handed over and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,

Beyond question, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory.

When your days are finished and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come from you, and I will establish his kingdom.He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he does wrong, I will discipline him with a rod of men and with strokes of sons of mankind,but My favor shall not depart from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from you.Your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.” ’ ”
