所以在他們心裏的私慾中、上帝就把他們放給污穢、去彼此侮辱自己的身體。

因此，神任憑他們順著心中的情慾去做汙穢的事，以致彼此玷汙自己的身體。

故上帝任其心之嗜慾、陷於不潔、致互辱其身、

故上帝聽其心之嗜慾、淪於污穢、互辱其身、

故天主聽其心之嗜慾、淪於污穢、互辱其身、

因是天主亦聽其縱情恣慾、淪於污穢、互辱其身。

So God let them go. He allowed them to do what their sinful hearts wanted to. He let them commit sexual sins. They made one another’s bodies impure by what they did.

Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other.And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done.

He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies.Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.

Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him.They have no sense of shame. They live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity.

“ Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.

Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor—

Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires.

And since this is true, we shouldn’t think of God as an idol designed by craftsmen from gold or silver or stone.“ God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him.

You say,“ Food was made for the stomach, and the stomach for food.”( This is true, though someday God will do away with both of them.) But you can’t say that our bodies were made for sexual immorality. They were made for the Lord, and the Lord cares about our bodies.

Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body.
