毋雕偶像、天上地下水中百物、勿作像像之、

昔在何烈山、耶和華由火中諭汝、未睹其像、故當謹恪、恐壞爾心術、雕刻偶像、或似男女、作像像之、或似走獸飛鳥、或似地上昆蟲、水中鱗介、

爾曹以何物比儗上帝、以何像像之、

爾當仰觀、天象羅布、有若軍旅、上帝以巨能大力、創造星辰、呼其名、核其數、無不應命。

我生斯世、從異邦人之俗亦至矣、邪侈縱欲、沉湎、蕩檢、饕餮過度、及拜偶像、尤非所宜、

木工用準繩、循規矩、運其利器、作人之形、窮極華美、置之於室、

異邦之偶像、金銀而已、人手所雕作兮。有口不言、有目不見、耳不聞聲音、鼻不通呼吸兮、造作之、依賴之、與彼無異兮。
