For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

I want to preach it because I’m not ashamed of the good news. It is God’s power to save everyone who believes. It is meant first for the Jews. It is meant also for the Gentiles.

and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.For it is written:“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the understanding of those who have understanding, I will confound.”Where is the wise person? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made foolish the wisdom of the world?For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom;but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block, and to Gentiles foolishness,but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

by which you also are saved, if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.

“ Is My word not like fire?” declares the Lord,“ and like a hammer which shatters a rock?

There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of mankind who does evil, for the Jew first and also for the Greek,

which is not just another account; but there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.

for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.We are destroying arguments and all arrogance raised against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

because of the hope reserved for you in heaven, of which you previously heard in the word of truth, the gospelwhich has come to you, just as in all the world also it is bearing fruit and increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth;

For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of mere men, but as what it really is, the word of God, which also is at work in you who believe.

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us reveals the fragrance of the knowledge of Him in every place.For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing:to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?

I will also speak of Your testimonies before kings And shall not be ashamed.

God raised up His Servant for you first, and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.”
