I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—

I long to see you. I want to make you strong by giving you a gift from the Holy Spirit.

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you—

For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord.

For I want very much to see you, so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you,

while they themselves also, with supplication on your behalf, yearn for you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you.

King David longed to go out to Absalom; for he was comforted concerning Amnon, since he was dead.

For God is my witness, how I long after all of you in the tender mercies of Christ Jesus.

I just want to learn this from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now completed in the flesh?Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain?He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you and does miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

and sent Timothy, our brother and God’s servant in the Good News of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith,

to the end he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

Therefore, my brothers, beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, my beloved.

comfort your hearts and establish you in every good work and word.

They rose early in the morning, and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. As they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said,“ Listen to me, Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in Yahweh your God, so you will be established! Believe his prophets, so you will prosper.”

Therefore I will not be negligent to remind you of these things, though you know them, and are established in the present truth.

But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

Therefore he says,“ When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to people.”Now this,“ He ascended”, what is it but that he also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers;for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ,

But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

You therefore, beloved, knowing these things beforehand, beware, lest being carried away with the error of the wicked, you fall from your own steadfastness.But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

So the assemblies were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily.

Through Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.

Now he who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God,

that I may come to you in joy through the will of God, and together with you, find rest.

For if he who comes preaches another Jesus, whom we didn’t preach, or if you receive a different spirit, which you didn’t receive, or a different“ good news”, which you didn’t accept, you put up with that well enough.

since he longed for you all, and was very troubled because you had heard that he was sick.

Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant.You know that when you were heathen, you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led.Therefore I make known to you that no man speaking by God’s Spirit says,“ Jesus is accursed.” No one can say,“ Jesus is Lord,” but by the Holy Spirit.Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord.There are various kinds of workings, but the same God, who works all things in all.But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all.For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;to another faith, by the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, by the same Spirit;and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of languages; and to another the interpretation of languages.But the one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.

Don’t be carried away by various and strange teachings, for it is good that the heart be established by grace, not by food, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.

David longed, and said,“ Oh that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!”

Now, you want to be gone, because you greatly longed for your father’s house, but why have you stolen my gods?”
