吾渴欲與爾相見、增爾神恩、用堅爾心。

I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—

I long to see you. I want to make you strong by giving you a gift from the Holy Spirit.

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you—

For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord.

For I want very much to see you, so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you,

For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established;

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established—

For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;

For I want very much to see you, so I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you,

These two went down and prayed for them so that they would receive the Holy Spirit.( For the Spirit had not yet come upon any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)Then Peter and John placed their hands on the Samaritans, and they received the Holy Spirit.Now Simon, when he saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, offered them money,saying,“ Give me this power too, so that everyone I place my hands on may receive the Holy Spirit.”

and when Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they began to speak in tongues and to prophesy.

Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that had been kept secret for long ages,

and I know that when I come to you I will come in the fullness of Christ’s blessing.

But now there is nothing more to keep me in these regions, and I have for many years desired to come to you

Now after all these things had taken place, Paul resolved to go to Jerusalem, passing through Macedonia and Achaia. He said,“ After I have been there, I must also see Rome.”

And in their prayers on your behalf they long for you because of the extraordinary grace God has shown to you.

The king longed to go to Absalom, for he had since been consoled over the death of Amnon.

For God is my witness that I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

The only thing I want to learn from you is this: Did you receive the Spirit by doing the works of the law or by believing what you heard?Are you so foolish? Although you began with the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by human effort?Have you suffered so many things for nothing?– if indeed it was for nothing.Does God then give you the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law or by your believing what you heard?

We sent Timothy, our brother and fellow worker for God in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen you and encourage you about your faith,

so that your hearts are strengthened in holiness to be blameless before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

So then, my brothers and sisters, dear friends whom I long to see, my joy and crown, stand in the Lord in this way, my dear friends!

encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good thing you do or say.

Early the next morning they marched out to the Desert of Tekoa. When they were ready to march, Jehoshaphat stood up and said:“ Listen to me, you people of Judah and residents of Jerusalem! Trust in the LORD your God and you will be safe! Trust in the message of his prophets and you will win.”

Therefore, I intend to remind you constantly of these things even though you know them and are well established in the truth that you now have.

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

Therefore it says,“ When he ascended on high he captured captives; he gave gifts to men.”Now what is the meaning of“ he ascended,” except that he also descended to the lower regions, namely, the earth?He, the very one who descended, is also the one who ascended above all the heavens, in order to fill all things.It was he who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,to equip the saints for the work of ministry, that is, to build up the body of Christ,

And, after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in Christ will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard that you do not get led astray by the error of these unprincipled men and fall from your firm grasp on the truth.But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the honor both now and on that eternal day.

So the churches were being strengthened in the faith and were increasing in number every day.

Through Silvanus, whom I know to be a faithful brother, I have written to you briefly, in order to encourage you and testify that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it.

But it is God who establishes us together with you in Christ and who anointed us,

so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.

For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus different from the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit than the one you received, or a different gospel than the one you accepted, you put up with it well enough!

Indeed, he greatly missed all of you and was distressed because you heard that he had been ill.

With regard to spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed.You know that when you were pagans you were often led astray by speechless idols, however you were led.So I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says,“ Jesus is cursed,” and no one can say,“ Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.Now there are different gifts, but the same Spirit.And there are different ministries, but the same Lord.And there are different results, but the same God who produces all of them in everyone.To each person the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the benefit of all.For one person is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, and another the message of knowledge according to the same Spirit,to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,to another performance of miracles, to another prophecy, and to another discernment of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.It is one and the same Spirit, distributing as he decides to each person, who produces all these things.

Do not be carried away by all sorts of strange teachings. For it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not ritual meals, which have never benefited those who participated in them.

David was thirsty and said,“ How I wish someone would give me some water to drink from the cistern in Bethlehem near the gate!”

Now I understand that you have gone away because you longed desperately for your father’s house. Yet why did you steal my gods?”
