I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—

I long to see you. I want to make you strong by giving you a gift from the Holy Spirit.

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you—

For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord.

I only want to learn this from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law or by hearing with faith?Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now going to be made complete by the flesh?Did you suffer so much for nothing— if in fact it was for nothing?So then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law or by hearing with faith?

And we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s coworker in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you concerning your faith,

May He make your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints. Amen.

So then, my brothers, you are dearly loved and longed for— my joy and crown. In this manner stand firm in the Lord, dear friends.

encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good work and word.

In the morning they got up early and went out to the wilderness of Tekoa. As they were about to go out, Jehoshaphat stood and said,“ Hear me, Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem. Believe in Yahweh your God, and you will be established; believe in His prophets, and you will succeed.”

For it says: When He ascended on high, He took prisoners into captivity; He gave gifts to people.But what does“ He ascended” mean except that He descended to the lower parts of the earth?The One who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.And He personally gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,for the training of the saints in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ,

Now the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will personally restore, establish, strengthen, and support you after you have suffered a little.

Therefore, dear friends, since you know this in advance, be on your guard, so that you are not led away by the error of lawless people and fall from your own stability.But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

So the churches were strengthened in the faith and increased in number daily.

I have written you this brief letter through Silvanus( I know him to be a faithful brother) to encourage you and to testify that this is the true grace of God. Take your stand in it!

Now it is God who strengthens us, with you, in Christ and has anointed us.

and that, by God’s will, I may come to you with joy and be refreshed together with you.

For if a person comes and preaches another Jesus, whom we did not preach, or you receive a different spirit, which you had not received, or a different gospel, which you had not accepted, you put up with it splendidly!

Now concerning what comes from the Spirit: brothers, I do not want you to be unaware.You know that when you were pagans, you used to be led off to the idols that could not speak.Therefore I am informing you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says,“ Jesus is cursed,” and no one can say,“ Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.Now there are different gifts, but the same Spirit.There are different ministries, but the same Lord.And there are different activities, but the same God activates each gift in each person.A demonstration of the Spirit is given to each person to produce what is beneficial:to one is given a message of wisdom through the Spirit, to another, a message of knowledge by the same Spirit,to another, faith by the same Spirit, to another, gifts of healing by the one Spirit,to another, the performing of miracles, to another, prophecy, to another, distinguishing between spirits, to another, different kinds of languages, to another, interpretation of languages.But one and the same Spirit is active in all these, distributing to each person as He wills.

Don’t be led astray by various kinds of strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be established by grace and not by foods, since those involved in them have not benefited.

David was extremely thirsty and said,“ If only someone would bring me water to drink from the well at the city gate of Bethlehem!”

Now you have gone off because you long for your father— but why have you stolen my gods?”
