王啊，至高的上帝曾將國位、大權、尊榮、威嚴、賜給你父尼布甲尼撒；由於上帝所賜給他的大權、各族之民、列國之民、各種方言的人就都在他面前戰兢恐懼：他喜歡殺誰、就殺誰，喜歡讓誰活着、就讓誰活着，他喜歡讓誰升高、就讓誰升高，喜歡叫誰降低、就叫誰降低。但他心高氣傲，剛愎自用，就從他的國位上黜落下來，他的尊榮就被褫奪。他被趕逐離開人類；他的心變如走獸的心；他的住處同野驢在一起；他受迫而喫草如牛；他的身體被天露滴濕，等到他承認至高上帝在人國中掌權，都隨着自己的意旨立人來管理。而你呢，伯沙撒啊，你是他的兒子，你雖知道這一切，你心仍不自己謙卑，

獸得權柄、能對聖徒作戰而勝過他們；有權柄給了牠、可以管轄各族派、各民族、各種語言的人、和各邦國。

他們作完了他們的見證時，那從無底坑裏上來的獸必對他們作戰，勝過他們，殺死他們。

耶穌回答說：『若不是從上頭給了你，你就毫無權柄辦我；故此那把我送交給你的、犯了更大的罪。』

此後我觀看，就看見另有一隻獸像豹，背上有鳥翅膀四個；這獸有四個頭；又有權柄給了牠。
