剪蟲吃剩的，蝗蟲來吃；蝗蟲吃剩的，蝻子來吃；蝻子吃剩的，螞蚱來吃。

我差遣到你們中間的大軍隊，就是蝗蟲、蝻子、螞蚱、剪蟲，那些年間所吃的，我要補還給你們。

但是不許蝗蟲害死他們，只可使他們受痛苦五個月；這痛苦就像人被蠍子螫了的痛苦一樣。

牠們有尾巴像蠍子，長着毒刺，尾巴上的毒刺有能力傷害人五個月。牠們有無底坑的使者作牠們的王，按着希伯來話名叫亞巴頓，希臘話名叫亞玻倫。

我父親使你們負重軛，現在我必使你們負更重的軛！我父親用鞭子懲罰你們，我要用蠍子懲罰你們！』」

米甸人、亞瑪力人和所有東邊的人都散佈在平原，如同蝗蟲那樣多。他們的駱駝無數，多如海邊的沙。

在那裏，火要吞滅你，刀必殺戮你，如蝻子般吞滅你。你人數增多如蝻子，增多如蝗蟲吧！

你若不肯放我的百姓走，看哪，明天我要使蝗蟲進入你的境內，遮滿地面，甚至地也看不見了。牠們要吃那冰雹後所剩，就是留給你們的；並且要吃那生長在田間的一切樹木。你的宮殿和你眾臣僕的房屋，以及一切埃及人的房屋，都要被蝗蟲佔滿；你祖宗和你祖宗的祖宗在世以來，直到今日都沒有見過。』」摩西就轉身離開法老出去。法老的臣僕對法老說：「這傢伙成為我們的羅網要到幾時呢？讓這些人去事奉耶和華－他們的上帝吧！埃及快要滅亡了，你還不知道嗎？」於是摩西和亞倫被召回來見法老。法老對他們說：「去，事奉耶和華－你們的上帝吧！但要去的是哪些人呢？」摩西說：「我們要帶着年老的和年少的同去，要帶着我們的兒子和女兒，以及我們的羊羣牛羣一起去，因為我們要向耶和華守節。」法老對他們說：「願耶和華與你們同在吧！我若讓你們帶着你們的孩子同去，看，災禍就在你們面前！不可都去！你們壯年人去事奉耶和華吧，因為這是你們所求的。」於是法老把他們從自己面前趕出去。耶和華對摩西說：「你向埃及地伸出你的手，使蝗蟲上到埃及地，吃地上冰雹後所剩一切的植物。」摩西就向埃及地伸杖；整整一晝一夜，耶和華使東風颳在埃及地上，到了早晨，東風把蝗蟲颳了來。蝗蟲上到埃及全地，落在埃及全境，非常厲害；蝗蟲這麼多，是空前絕後的。蝗蟲遮滿地面，地上一片黑暗。牠們吃盡了地上一切的植物和冰雹過後所剩樹上的果子。埃及全地，無論是樹木，是田間的植物，連一點綠的也沒有留下。

曾引領你經過那大而可怕的曠野，有火蛇、蠍子、乾旱無水之地。他也曾為你使水從堅硬的磐石中流出來，

你，人子啊，雖有荊棘和蒺藜在你那裏，你又住在蠍子中間，總不要怕他們，也不要怕他們的話；他們雖是悖逆之家，但你不要怕他們的話，也不要因他們的臉色驚惶。

你們的擄物必被斂盡，有如螞蚱斂盡禾稼；人為擄物奔走，宛如蝗蟲蹦跳。

你的領袖多如蝗蟲，你的將軍彷彿成羣的蝗蟲；天涼時齊落在籬笆上，太陽一出就飛去，人不知道落在何處。

我已經給你們權柄可以踐踏蛇和蠍子，又勝過仇敵一切的能力，絕沒有甚麼能害你們。
