剪蟲剩下的、蝗蟲喫了；蝗蟲剩下的、蝻子喫了；蝻子剩下的、螞蚱喫了。

我所打發到你們中間去的、我的大軍隊、蝗蟲、蝻子、螞蚱、剪蟲、所喫盡的那些年頭的收成、我必補還給你們。

蝗蟲卻沒有得權柄可以殺戮他們，只要叫他們受苦痛五個月；他們的苦痛就像蠍子螫人時所引起的苦痛一樣。

牠們有尾巴彷彿是蠍子，又有毒刺；牠們那傷害人五個月的權柄就在於牠們的尾巴。牠們有無底坑的使者做王管轄牠們；王的名字按希伯來話是亞巴頓；按希利尼話叫亞波倫、就是「毁滅者」的意思。

我父親將負的軛給你們馱上，現在呢、我要加重你們的軛呢；我父親用鞭子責打你們，我卻要用蠍子鞭責打你們呢。」』

那時米甸人、亞瑪力人、和東方人散布在山谷中，像蝗蟲那麼多；他們的駱駝無數，就像海邊的沙那麼多。

就在那裏、火就要燒滅你了，刀劍就要剪滅你，吞滅你、像蝻子吞喫五穀。任你增多如蝻子吧！任你增多如蝗蟲吧！

你若不肯讓我的人民走，你就看吧，明天我一定要叫蝗蟲進你的境內，遮滿了地面，以致人都看不到地。蝗蟲必喫那逃脫了難的餘剩物，那沒受冰雹打壞所剩下來的；牠們必喫田野間所生長的一切樹木。蝗蟲必充滿了你的宮殿、你眾臣僕的房屋、和埃及眾人的房屋：就是從你祖宗和你祖宗的祖宗住在這地的日子以來，直到今日，沒有見過這樣蟲災的。」』說了這些話，摩西就轉身、離開法老出來了。法老的臣僕對法老說：『這個人陷害我們、要到幾時呢？讓這些人走，去事奉永恆主他們的上帝吧。埃及毁壞了，你還不知道麼？』於是摩西、亞倫被召回來見法老；法老對他們說：『去事奉永恆主你們的上帝吧；但誰和誰要去呢？』摩西說：『我們去，是要和我們那些年青的跟年老的去，和我們的兒女們去，帶着我們的羊羣牛羣去的，因為我們的節是個拜永恆主的節。』法老對他們說：『如果我讓你們和你們的弱小者走，願永恆主這樣和你們同在吧！看哪，你們是心懷惡意的。不行，只有你們的男丁可以去事奉永恆主，因為這是你們所謀求的』。就把他們從法老面前攆走。永恆主對摩西說：『你向埃及地伸手，使蝗蟲上埃及地來，喫地上各樣的菜蔬，就是冰雹所剩下的。』摩西就向埃及地伸了手杖，那天一整天、那夜一整夜、永恆主引了東風到那地來；到了早晨，東風把蝗蟲都颳了來。蝗蟲上來，在全埃及地上空，息落在埃及全境，非常嚴重：以前沒有過這樣多的蝗蟲，以後也不會有這樣的。蝗蟲遮滿了地面，弄得那地都暗黑了。牠們又喫了地上各樣的菜蔬，和樹上一切的果子、就是冰雹所留下來的：以致埃及遍地、無論是樹木、是田間的菜蔬、連一點青的也沒有留下。

他引領你走過那大而可怕的曠野，那裏有火蛇、有蠍子、有乾渴無水之地；他曾為了你而使水從硬石頭的磐石中流出來。

人子啊，你不要怕他們，他們的話你可不要懼怕，雖有頂撞和藐視的人如同荊棘和蒺藜在你那裏，你又住在蠍子中間；他們的話你可不要懼怕，你不要因他們的臉色而驚慌；他們原是叛逆之家。

擄掠之物必被收拾，像螞蚱之收拾禾稼；人必蹦在其上，像蝗蟲之蹦跳一樣。

你的守衛雖多如蝗蟲，你的招募員雖多如螞蚱羣——天涼時駐紮在籬笆上，日頭一出，便都飛走，其住處在哪裏、就無人知了。

注意吧，我已經給了你們權柄、可以踐踏蛇和蠍子，並勝過仇敵一切的能力；斷沒有甚麼能害你們。
