The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss.

爾當知末世必有危時、人惟自顧、好利、矜誇、驕傲、訕謗、逆親、辜負、不虔敬、無情、背約、背約或作不解怨好讒、縱慾、殘酷、惡善、惡善或作惡為善者奸詐賣友、任意妄為、倨傲自大、專愛宴樂、不愛天主、有虔敬之貌、而無虔敬之實、而無虔敬之實原文作而不認其德若此者、爾當遠避、

我見天使自天降、手執大淵之鑰、及大鐵索、

蝗有王、即大淵之使者、希伯來言、名阿巴頓、希拉言、名阿波呂甕、一禍既往、尚有二禍將至、○第六天使吹角、我聞有聲、自天主前金臺之四角而出、

第四天使吹角、日三分之一、月三分之一、星辰三分之一、皆陰蔽、陰蔽原文作被擊致日月星三分之一昏暗、晝三分之一無光、夜亦如是、

人用何法、皆勿為其所惑、蓋其日未至、必先有叛教之事、且彼罪惡之人、即沈淪之子必將顯出、彼惡者敵天主、妄自尊崇、超軼凡稱為主、凡受人崇拜者、甚至坐於天主殿、髣髴天主、且自言為天主、我儕尚在爾中時、曾以此告爾、爾不憶乎、爾亦知今所阻之者為何、阻之以待其時至方顯、蓋不法之隱慝、今已發動、但阻之者仍阻之、待阻之者既除於中、然後彼不法者顯出、主將以其口中之氣滅之、以其降臨之輝耀廢之、

惑彼之魔、見投於硫磺之火坑、即投獸與偽先知之處、晝夜受苦、至於世世、

爾明光之晨星歟、何竟隕自天哉、勝列國者歟、何竟偃仆塵埃哉、

爾見我右手所執之七星、及金燈臺七、俱有奧義、七星、即七教會之使者、七燈臺、即七教會也、
