The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.

四使見釋、即所備於其年月日時以殺人三分之一者、

此難之後、日將冥、月無光、星隕自天、天象震動、

自午正至申初、徧地晦冥、

日月星辰、將有異兆、在地諸國困苦顚連、海波漰湃故也、

時約午正、徧地晦冥、至申初、日無光、殿幔中裂、

當是時也、災難之後、日將冥、月無光、

尾曳天星三分之一、投之於地、龍立於將產之婦前、待其既產、而吞其子、

自午正至申初、徧地晦冥、

此三災殺人三分之一、以其口所出之火與煙與硫也、

維時、月愧怍、日羞慚、因萬軍之耶和華王於錫安山、在耶路撒冷、於長者前顯其榮焉、

日將變暗、月將變血、在主日未至之前、即其大而顯赫之日也、

其四傾盂於日、日遂以火曝人、人為酷熱所曝、遂謗讟掌此諸災上帝之名、又弗改悔、而以榮歸之、○

我觀大地則虛曠混沌、我觀諸天則無光、

我滅爾時、必蔽諸天、使星昏暗、以雲掩日、令月無光、我使天之輝光昏暗、布晦冥於爾地、主耶和華言之矣、

主耶和華曰、是日也、我將使日沈於亭午、使地晦於白晝、

斯世之靈、盲其中不信者之心、使基督有榮之福音、光不之照、夫基督上帝像也、
