The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.

天上的星辰和众星座都不发光；太阳出来时就是黑的，月亮也不放光。

第一位天使吹响号角，就有冰雹和火，混着血被撒在地上；于是大地的三分之一被烧掉，树木的三分之一被烧掉，所有的青草也都被烧掉了。第二位天使吹响号角，就有一座像被火燃烧着的大山被丢进海里；于是海的三分之一变成血，海中有生命的被造之物的三分之一也死了，众船只的三分之一也被毁了。第三位天使吹响号角，就有一颗像火把一样燃烧着的大星，从天上坠落，落在江河的三分之一和众水的泉源上。这颗星的名字叫“苦艾”。于是众水的三分之一变为苦艾，许多人就因这水变苦而死去了。第四位天使吹响号角，太阳的三分之一、月亮的三分之一、星辰的三分之一都被击打，以致它们的三分之一变黑了；于是白昼的三分之一没有光，夜晚也是如此。

我又观看，羔羊打开第六个封印的时候，发生了大地震。太阳变黑像粗毛布，整个月亮变得像血。

这不法之人的到来，是出于撒旦的作为，对那些正在灭亡的人，使用一切能力、虚假的神迹和奇事，并且使用一切不义的诡计，因为他们不接受那能使他们得救的真理之爱。为此，神就把一种迷惑人的力量送进他们里面，使他们相信虚假之事，好使所有不相信真理而喜悦不义的人，都被定罪。

于是那四个使者就被释放了。他们是为此年、此月、此日、此时所预备好的，为要杀死人类的三分之一。

“那些日子的患难一过去，‘太阳就要变黑，月亮也不发光，星辰要从天上坠落，诸天的各势力也将被震动。’

到了中午十二点，黑暗笼罩了整个大地，一直到下午三点。

“在太阳、月亮和星辰中将有征兆出现；在地上，因海洋的咆哮和翻腾，列国的人就惊慌失措，陷入困惑混乱之中；

从中午十二点起，黑暗笼罩了整个大地，一直到下午三点。

由于这三样灾害，就是从马口中所喷出的火、烟、硫磺，人类的三分之一被杀了。

那时，月亮抱愧，太阳蒙羞，因为万军之耶和华必在锡安山、在耶路撒冷作王，并在他的长老们面前显出荣耀。

在主那大而显赫的日子来到之前，太阳要变为黑暗，月亮要变为血。

第四位天使把他的碗倒在太阳上，太阳就被准许用火灼烤人。人们被大炎热灼烤，就亵渎了那有权柄统管这些灾害的神的名；他们也不悔改，不把荣耀归给他。

对于他们，这世代的神把这些不信之人的心眼弄瞎了，使他们不能洞察基督荣耀的福音之光。基督就是神的形像。
