So“ they are in front of the throne of God. They serve him day and night in his temple. The one who sits on the throne will be with them to keep them safe.

Then the Lord will create over Jerusalem a cloud of smoke by day. He will also create a glow of flaming fire at night. The cloud and fire will appear over all of Mount Zion. They will also appear over the people who gather together there. The Lord’ s glory will be like a tent over everything.It will cover the people and give them shade from the hot sun all day long. It will be a safe place where they can hide from storms and rain.

David had said,“ The Lord is the God of Israel. He has given peace and rest to his people. He has come to Jerusalem to live there forever.

The Word became a human being. He made his home with us. We have seen his glory. It is the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father. And the Word was full of grace and truth.

There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun. The Lord God will give them light. They will rule for ever and ever.

I will live among my people Israel. I will not desert them.”

Twenty- four other thrones surrounded that throne. Twenty- four elders were sitting on them. The elders were dressed in white. They had gold crowns on their heads.

Why are you jealous of Mount Zion, you rocky mountain? That’s where God chooses to rule. That’s where the Lord himself will live forever.God has come with tens of thousands of his chariots. He has come with thousands and thousands of them. The Lord has come from Mount Sinai. He has entered his holy place.When he went up to his place on high, he took many prisoners. He received gifts from people, even from those who refused to obey him. The Lord God went up to live on Mount Zion.

Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple? Don’t you know that God’s Spirit lives among you?

Let us keep looking to Jesus. He is the one who started this journey of faith. And he is the one who completes the journey of faith. He paid no attention to the shame of the cross. He suffered there because of the joy he was looking forward to. Then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Then God’s temple in heaven was opened. Inside it the wooden chest called the ark of his covenant could be seen. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings and thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.

How can the temple of the true God and the statues of other gods agree? We are the temple of the living God. God has said,“ I will live with them. I will walk among them. I will be their God. And they will be my people.”( Leviticus 26:12; Jeremiah 32:38; Ezekiel 37:27)

After this I looked, and there in front of me was a huge crowd of people. They stood in front of the throne and in front of the Lamb. There were so many that no one could count them. They came from every nation, tribe and people. That’s true no matter what language they spoke. They were wearing white robes. In their hands they were holding palm branches.

All you who serve the Lord, praise the Lord. All you who serve at night in the house of the Lord, praise him.Lift up your hands in the temple and praise the Lord.

Here is the main point of what we are saying. We have a high priest like that. He sat down at the right hand of the throne of the King, the Majesty in heaven.

Then everyone sang a new song in front of the throne. They sang it in front of the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000. They had been set free from the evil of the earth.They had not committed sexual sins with women. They had kept themselves pure. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among human beings as a first offering to God and the Lamb.They told no lies. They are without blame.

Then I will live among the people of Israel. And I will be their God.

The devil had caused them to believe lies. He was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur. That is where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will all suffer day and night for ever and ever.
