I answered,“ Sir, you know.” And he said,“ These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

I told him,“ My lord, you know.” He said to me,“ These are those who came out of the great suffering. They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb’s blood.

“ Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. (niv)

And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood. (niv)

They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. (niv)

How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! (niv)

Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel.The angel said to those who were standing before him,“ Take off his filthy clothes.” Then he said to Joshua,“ See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.”Then I said,“ Put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the Lord stood by. And I saw what looked like a sea of glass glowing with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and its image and over the number of its name. They held harps given them by God (niv)

I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of God’s holy people, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus. When I saw her, I was greatly astonished. (niv)

Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring. (niv)

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.They called out in a loud voice,“ How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been. He cast four gold rings for it and fastened them to its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other. (niv)
