When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.

The Lamb broke open the fifth seal. I saw souls under the altar. They were the souls of people who had been killed. They had been killed because of God’s word and their faithful witness.

我見數位居之者得以鞫人、昔有不拜獸、及獸像、其顙其手不受印誌、為耶穌言、及上帝道、見殺復生、與基督乘權一千年、

人將逐爾出會堂、時至、在殺爾者、意以此為事上帝、

余約翰與爾曹為兄弟、共忍患難於耶穌基督之國、為傳上帝道、及耶穌基督言、昔在拔摩嶼、

又有掌火之天使自祭壇出、大聲呼執利鐮者曰、園圃之葡萄熟矣、用利鐮收之、

我知爾所為、爾所處者、乃撒但之邦畿、昔安提帕為我作證、克盡厥忠、見殺於爾間、而爾猶尊我名、不拒我道、

我聞有聲自祭壇出曰、然、全能之主上帝、鞫人維公與正、

惟諸兄弟不貪生而冒死、故賴羔流血、以所傳之道勝敵、惟天與在天者樂此、居陸地與海者、禍必及之、因魔鬼自知時日無幾、故以盛怒臨汝、婦既生男子、龍見棄於地、遂逐之、婦避蛇之害、得大鷹雙翼、高騫曠野、至其地、在彼就養、歷一載。又逾二載、又半載、蛇吐水成渠淹婦之後、意欲溺之、地坼、吸龍所吐之水以援婦、龍怒婦益甚、乃往與婦之苗裔戰、即守上帝命、從耶穌基督道者、

我欲俯伏拜語我者、彼止之曰、不可、爾惟拜上帝、爾我與傳耶穌言之兄弟、無非同僚、凡感聖神、為先知者、均傳耶穌言、明矣、

我將使二證者衣綌傳道、凡一千二百有六旬、所謂二橄欖、二燈臺置於天下上帝前者此也、如有人欲傷之、彼必吐火滅敵、凡欲傷之者、必如是亡、二證能閉塞穹蒼、傳道時、甘霖不沛、亦能變水成血、無論其時、任意降災、證畢、獸自深淵起、與之戰勝而殺之、

約翰以上帝道、耶穌基督言、及己所見者作證、

又一天使執金鼎、侍祭壇側、授香無算、以香與聖徒祈禱、獻於位前之金壇、

其六天使吹角、即有聲來自上帝前、金壇四旁間、

故勿以傳主道為恥、亦勿以我因主被囚為恥、實賴上帝之能、為福音共受苦、

今我血譬諸灌奠、我逝邁之期伊邇、

我際兩難之間、甚欲歸、與基督共在為愈美、

是以安心、願離身與主偕、

必取血少許、釁於我前、會幕香壇之角、傾餘血於會幕前、祭壇下、

以爾之信為祀事、以我之血為灌奠以配之、我樂此、而與爾同樂、
