Another came out: a red horse. To him who sat on it was given power to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another. There was given to him a great sword.

倏見一赤馬、騎者受賜巨刃、奉命褫奪全世和平、殺機以開。

He carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet- colored beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns.

I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered with great amazement.

Because of the greatness that he gave him, all the peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. He killed whom he wanted to, and he kept alive whom he wanted to. He raised up whom he wanted to, and he put down whom he wanted to.

I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand; but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before the king of Babylon with the groaning of a mortally wounded man.I will hold up the arms of the king of Babylon; and the arms of Pharaoh will fall down. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he stretches it out on the land of Egypt.

You, O king, are king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, the strength, and the glory.Wherever the children of men dwell, he has given the animals of the field and the birds of the sky into your hand, and has made you rule over them all. You are the head of gold.

Jesus answered,“ You would have no power at all against me, unless it were given to you from above. Therefore he who delivered me to you has greater sin.”

but indeed for this cause I have made you stand: to show you my power, and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth,because you still exalt yourself against my people, that you won’t let them go.

Alas Assyrian, the rod of my anger, the staff in whose hand is my indignation!I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people who anger me I will give him a command to take the plunder and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

“‘ Have you not heard how I have done it long ago, and formed it in ancient times? Now I have brought it to pass, that it should be yours to destroy fortified cities, turning them into ruinous heaps.Therefore their inhabitants had little power. They were dismayed and confounded. They were like the grass of the field, and like the green herb, like the grass on the housetops, and like a field before its crop has grown.

“ Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyre. Every head was made bald, and every shoulder was worn; yet he had no wages, nor did his army, from Tyre, for the service that he had served against it.Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:‘ Behold, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. He will carry off her multitude, take her plunder, and take her prey. That will be the wages for his army.I have given him the land of Egypt as his payment for which he served, because they worked for me,’ says the Lord Yahweh.
