“ I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other!

not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

“ No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

being a double minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Then Elijah approached all the people and said,“ How long are you going to struggle with the two choices? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people did not answer him so much as a word.

And this I pray, that your love may overflow still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment,

And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will become cold.

But I have this against you, that you have left your first love.

“ But My people did not listen to My voice, And Israel did not obey Me.So I gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart, To walk by their own plans.Oh that My people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways!

For I am afraid that perhaps when I come I may find you to be not what I wish, and may be found by you to be not what you wish; that perhaps there will be strife, jealousy, angry tempers, selfishness, slanders, gossip, arrogance, disturbances;

And those who bow down on the housetops to the heavenly lights, And those who bow down and swear to the Lord, but also swear by Milcom,And those who have turned back from following the Lord, And those who have not sought the Lord nor inquired of Him.”

Give me your heart, my son, And let your eyes delight in my ways.

If only they had such a heart in them, to fear Me and keep all My commandments always, so that it would go well with them and with their sons forever!

Since you have purified your souls in obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brothers and sisters, fervently love one another from the heart,

‘ I know your deeds and your labor and perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate evil people, and you have put those who call themselves apostles to the test, and they are not, and you found them to be false;

“ To the angel of the church in Sardis write: He who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars, says this:‘ I know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, and yet you are dead.

Their heart is deceitful; Now they must suffer for their guilt. The Lord will break down their altars And destroy their memorial stones.

We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters, as is only fitting, because your faith is increasing abundantly, and the love of each and every one of you toward one another grows ever greater.

“ The one who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and the one who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?

But if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served, which were beyond the Euphrates River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”The people answered and said,“ Far be it from us that we would abandon the Lord to serve other gods;for the Lord our God is He who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves, and did these great signs in our sight and watched over us through all the way in which we went and among all the peoples through whose midst we passed.The Lord drove out from before us all the peoples, even the Amorites who lived in the land. We also will serve the Lord, for He is our God.”Then Joshua said to the people,“ You will not be able to serve the Lord, for He is a holy God. He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your wrongdoing or your sins.If you abandon the Lord and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and destroy you after He has done good to you.”And the people said to Joshua,“ No, but we will serve the Lord.”So Joshua said to the people,“ You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen for yourselves the Lord, to serve Him.” And they said,“ We are witnesses.”“ Now then, do away with the foreign gods which are in your midst, and incline your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”And the people said to Joshua,“ We will serve the Lord our God and obey His voice.”

If anyone does not love the Lord, he is to be accursed. Maranatha!

Ephraim is himself thrown about with the nations; Ephraim has become a round loaf not turned over.
