Only what is pure will enter the city. No one who causes people to believe lies will enter it. No one who does shameful things will enter it either. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life will enter the city.

God has commanded us to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ. He has also commanded us to love one another.The one who obeys God’s commands remains joined to him. And he remains joined to them. Here is how we know that God lives in us. We know it because of the Holy Spirit he gave us.

‘ Whoever has ears should listen to what the Holy Spirit says to the churches. Here is what I will do for anyone who has victory over sin. I will let that person eat from the tree of life in God’s paradise.’

If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love. In the same way, I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love.I have told you this so that you will have the same joy that I have. I also want your joy to be complete.Here is my command. Love one another, just as I have loved you.No one has greater love than the one who gives their life for their friends.You are my friends if you do what I command.

Being circumcised means nothing. Being uncircumcised means nothing. Doing what God commands is what counts.

Blessed are those who live without blame. They live in keeping with the law of the Lord.Blessed are those who obey his covenant laws. Circumcision and uncircumcision aren’t worth anything to those who believe in Christ Jesus. The only thing that really counts is faith that shows itself through love.

The winds blow and beat against that house. But it does not fall. It is built on the rock.But everyone who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man. But be careful how you use your rights. Be sure you don’t cause someone weaker than you to fall into sin.

Our father Jacob gave us the well. He drank from it himself. So did his sons and his livestock. Are you more important than he is?”

Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who have respect for the Lord. They find great delight when they obey God’s commands.

So Jesus said again,“ What I’m about to tell you is true. I am like a gate for the sheep.

Anyone who has my commands and obeys them loves me. My Father will love the one who loves me. I too will love them. And I will show myself to them.”Then Judas spoke.“ Lord,” he said,“ why do you plan to show yourself only to us? Why not also to the world?” The Judas who spoke those words was not Judas Iscariot.Jesus replied,“ Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them. We will come to them and make our home with them.

It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready when he comes. What I’m about to tell you is true. The master will then dress himself so he can serve them. He will have them take their places at the table. And he will come and wait on them.It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready. It will even be good if he comes in the middle of the night or toward morning.

Blessed are those who wait for the 1,335 days and reach the end of them.

The Lord says,“ Do what is fair and right. I will soon come and save you. Soon everyone will know that what I do is right.Blessed is the person who does what I want them to. They are faithful in keeping the Sabbath day. They do not misuse it. They do not do what is evil on that day.”

Don’t we have the right to take a believing wife with us when we travel? The other apostles do. The Lord’s brothers do. Peter does.

Blessed are those who always do what is fair. Blessed are those who keep doing what is right.Lord, remember me when you bless your people. Help me when you save them.Then I will enjoy the good things you give your chosen ones. I will be joyful together with your people. I will join them when they praise you.

The city had a huge, high wall with 12 gates. Twelve angels were at the gates, one at each of them. On the gates were written the names of the 12 tribes of Israel.

Jesus answered,“ I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
