他已經吞滅死亡直到永遠。主耶和華必擦去各人臉上的眼淚，又除掉普天下他百姓的羞辱，因為這是耶和華說的。

因為寶座中的羔羊必牧養他們，領他們到生命水的泉源；神也必擦去他們一切的眼淚。」

儘末了所毀滅的仇敵就是死。

並且耶和華救贖的民必歸回，歌唱來到錫安；永樂必歸到他們的頭上；他們必得着歡喜快樂，憂愁歎息盡都逃避。

你的日頭不再下落；你的月亮也不退縮；因為耶和華必作你永遠的光。你悲哀的日子也完畢了。

這必朽壞的既變成不朽壞的，這必死的既變成不死的，那時經上所記「死被得勝吞滅」的話就應驗了。死啊！你得勝的權勢在哪裏？死啊！你的毒鈎在哪裏？死的毒鈎就是罪，罪的權勢就是律法。感謝神，使我們藉着我們的主耶穌基督得勝。所以，我親愛的弟兄們，你們務要堅固，不可搖動，常常竭力多做主工；因為知道，你們的勞苦在主裏面不是徒然的。

你們當因我所造的永遠歡喜快樂；因我造耶路撒冷為人所喜，造其中的居民為人所樂。我必因耶路撒冷歡喜，因我的百姓快樂；其中必不再聽見哭泣的聲音和哀號的聲音。

我又看見一個新天新地；因為先前的天地已經過去了，海也不再有了。

那時，處女必歡樂跳舞；年少的、年老的，也必一同歡樂；因為我要使他們的悲哀變為歡喜，並要安慰他們，使他們的愁煩轉為快樂。

死亡和陰間也被扔在火湖裏；這火湖就是第二次的死。

耶和華救贖的民必歸回，歌唱來到錫安；永樂必歸到他們的頭上。他們必得着歡喜快樂；憂愁歎息盡都逃避。

以後再沒有咒詛；在城裏有神和羔羊的寶座；他的僕人都要事奉他，

天地要廢去，我的話卻不能廢去。」

百姓必在錫安、在耶路撒冷居住；你不再哭泣。主必因你哀求的聲音施恩給你；他聽見的時候就必應允你。

賜華冠與錫安悲哀的人，代替灰塵；喜樂油代替悲哀；讚美衣代替憂傷之靈；使他們稱為「公義樹」，是耶和華所栽的，叫他得榮耀。

兒女既同有血肉之體，他也照樣親自成了血肉之體，特要藉着死敗壞那掌死權的，就是魔鬼，並要釋放那些一生因怕死而為奴僕的人。

但主的日子要像賊來到一樣。那日，天必大有響聲廢去，有形質的都要被烈火銷化，地和其上的物都要燒盡了。

人好像一口氣；他的年日如同影兒快快過去。

用世物的，要像不用世物，因為這世界的樣子將要過去了。

我必救贖他們脫離陰間，救贖他們脫離死亡。死亡啊，你的災害在哪裏呢？陰間哪，你的毀滅在哪裏呢？在我眼前絕無後悔之事。

又說：你們務要從他們中間出來，與他們分別；不要沾不潔淨的物，我就收納你們。
