所以，从一个仿佛已死的人竟生出子孙，如同天上的星那样众多，海边的沙那样无数。

以色列啊，你的百姓虽多如海沙，惟有剩下的归回。灭绝之事已成定局，公义必如水涨溢。

正如天上的万象不能数算，海边的尘沙不能斗量，我必照样使我仆人大卫的后裔和事奉我的利未人多起来。”

犹大人和以色列人如同海边的沙那样多，都吃喝快乐。

米甸人、亚玛力人和所有东边的人都散布在平原，如同蝗虫那样多。他们的骆驼无数，多如海边的沙。

非利士人集合，要与以色列人作战。他们有战车三万辆，骑兵六千，士兵像海边的沙那样多。他们上来，在伯‧亚文东边的密抹安营。
