我就觀看，看見一匹灰色馬；騎在馬上的，名字叫作「死」，陰間也隨着他；有權柄賜給他們，可以用刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫、野獸，殺害地上四分之一的人。

你們不要對這事感到驚訝，因為時候將到，凡在墳墓裏的，都要聽見他的聲音，並且要出來：行善的，復活得生命；作惡的，復活被定罪。

死亡和陰間也被扔進火湖裏，這火湖就是第二次的死。

我又看見死了的人，無論大小，都站在寶座前。案卷都展開了，並另有一卷展開，就是生命冊。死了的人都憑着這些案卷所記載的，照他們所行的受審判。

你的死人要復活，我的屍首要起來。睡在塵土裏的啊，要醒起歌唱！你的甘露好像晨曦的甘露，地要交出陰魂。

弟兄們，我要告訴你們的是：血肉之軀不能承受上帝的國，必朽壞的也不能承受不朽壞的。我如今把一件奧祕的事告訴你們：我們不是都要睡覺，而是都要改變，就在一剎那，眨眼之間，號筒末次吹響的時候。因號筒要吹響，死人要復活成為不朽壞的，我們也要改變。這會朽壞的必須變成不朽壞的；這會死的總要變成不會死的。當這會朽壞的變成不朽壞的，這會死的變成不會死的，那時經上所記「死亡已被勝利吞滅了」的話就應驗了。「死亡啊！你得勝的權勢在哪裏？死亡啊！你的毒刺在哪裏？」死亡的毒刺就是罪，罪的權勢就是律法。感謝上帝，他使我們藉着我們的主耶穌基督得勝。所以，我親愛的弟兄們，你們務要堅固，不可動搖，常常竭力多做主工，因為你們知道，你們在主裏的勞苦不是徒然的。

我必救贖他們脫離陰間，救贖他們脫離死亡。死亡啊，你的災害在哪裏？陰間哪，你的毀滅在哪裏？憐憫必從我眼前消逝。

又是永活的。我曾死過，看哪，我是活着的，直到永永遠遠；並且我拿着死亡和陰間的鑰匙。
