然我有所責爾者、以爾初時之愛已棄之矣、

然爾猶有疵可摘、爾初愛我、今則漠然、

然猶有可責爾者、因爾始初之愛淡漠矣、

第吾有不滿於爾者、以爾已無初愛之忱也。

Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.

‘ But here is something I hold against you. You have turned away from the love you had at first.

But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.

“ But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first!

But I have this against you: You have abandoned the love you had at first.

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. (niv)

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. (niv)

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, (niv)

Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more, (niv)

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.Only let us live up to what we have already attained. (niv)

“ To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation.I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!So, because you are lukewarm— neither hot nor cold— I am about to spit you out of my mouth.You say,‘ I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. (niv)

Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality. (niv)

Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. (niv)
