But I have this against you: You have departed from your first love!

然猶有可責爾者、因爾始初之愛淡漠矣、

第吾有不滿於爾者、以爾已無初愛之忱也。

Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.

‘ But here is something I hold against you. You have turned away from the love you had at first.

But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.

“ But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first!

and because lawlessness will increase so much, the love of many will grow cold.But the person who endures to the end will be saved.

For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love you have demonstrated for his name, in having served and continuing to serve the saints.But we passionately want each of you to demonstrate the same eagerness for the fulfillment of your hope until the end,

And I pray this, that your love may abound even more and more in knowledge and every kind of insight

Now on the topic of brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another.And indeed you are practicing it toward all the brothers and sisters in all of Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more,

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself to have attained this. Instead I am single- minded: Forgetting the things that are behind and reaching out for the things that are ahead,with this goal in mind, I strive toward the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.Therefore let those of us who are“ perfect” embrace this point of view. If you think otherwise, God will reveal to you the error of your ways.Nevertheless, let us live up to the standard that we have already attained.

We ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith flourishes more and more and the love of each one of you all for one another is ever greater.

But I have a few things against you: You have some people there who follow the teaching of Balaam, who instructed Balak to put a stumbling block before the people of Israel so they would eat food sacrificed to idols and commit sexual immorality.

But I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and by her teaching deceives my servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols.
