Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality.

Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against Yahweh in the matter of Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of Yahweh.

that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality, from which if you keep yourselves, it will be well with you. Farewell.”

Israel stayed in Shittim; and the people began to play the prostitute with the daughters of Moab;for they called the people to the sacrifices of their gods. The people ate and bowed down to their gods.Israel joined himself to Baal Peor, and Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel.

Woe to them! For they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in Korah’s rebellion.

Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and fought against Israel. He sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you,

Consider Israel according to the flesh. Don’t those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar?What am I saying then? For“ the earth is the Lord’s, with all its fullness.”Conscience, I say, not your own, but the other’s conscience. For why is my liberty judged by another conscience?If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced for something I give thanks for?Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.

and,“ a stumbling stone and a rock of offense.” For they stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed.

But concerning the Gentiles who believe, we have written our decision that they should observe no such thing, except that they should keep themselves from food offered to idols, from blood, from strangled things, and from sexual immorality.”

But for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

“ Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods,” but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.Now God raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his power.Don’t you know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be!Or don’t you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For,“ The two”, he says,“ will become one flesh.”But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.Flee sexual immorality!“ Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

but that we write to them that they abstain from the pollution of idols, from sexual immorality, from what is strangled, and from blood.For Moses from generations of old has in every city those who preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

They killed the kings of Midian with the rest of their slain: Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam the son of Beor with the sword.

Therefore let’s not judge one another any more, but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block in his brother’s way, or an occasion for falling.

But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one.For though there are things that are called“ gods”, whether in the heavens or on earth; as there are many“ gods” and many“ lords”;yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we live through him.However, that knowledge isn’t in all men. But some, with consciousness of the idol until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.But food will not commend us to God. For neither, if we don’t eat, are we the worse; nor, if we eat, are we the better.But be careful that by no means does this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to the weak.For if a man sees you who have knowledge sitting in an idol’s temple, won’t his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols?And through your knowledge, he who is weak perishes, the brother for whose sake Christ died.Thus, sinning against the brothers, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ.Therefore if food causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat forever more, that I don’t cause my brother to stumble.

“ Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he will die. Because you have not given him warning, he will die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered; but I will require his blood at your hand.

Therefore Yahweh says,“ Behold, I will lay stumbling blocks before this people. The fathers and the sons together will stumble against them. The neighbor and his friend will perish.”

He will say,“ Build up, build up, prepare the way! Remove the stumbling- block out of the way of my people.”

“ Woe to the world because of occasions of stumbling! For it must be that the occasions come, but woe to that person through whom the occasion comes!

It is good to not eat meat, drink wine, nor do anything by which your brother stumbles, is offended, or is made weak.

Now, behold, I go to my people. Come, I will inform you what this people shall do to your people in the latter days.”

Because they ministered to them before their idols, and became a stumbling block of iniquity to the house of Israel. Therefore I have lifted up my hand against them,” says the Lord Yahweh,“ and they will bear their iniquity.

Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

But I have this against you, that you left your first love.

Why? Because they didn’t seek it by faith, but as it were by works of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling stone;

David says,“ Let their table be made a snare, a trap, a stumbling block, and a retribution to them.

but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks,
