You will be hated by everyone because of me. But anyone who remains strong in the faith will be saved.

You have kept my command to remain strong in the faith no matter what happens. So I will keep you from the time of suffering. That time is going to come to the whole world. It will test those who live on the earth.‘ I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have. Then no one will take away your crown.

The Chief Shepherd will come again. Then you will receive the crown of glory. It is a crown that will never fade away.

Even your parents, brothers, sisters, relatives and friends will hand you over to the authorities. The authorities will put some of you to death.Everyone will hate you because of me.But not a hair on your head will be harmed.Remain strong in the faith, and you will receive eternal life.

Everyone will hate you because of me. But the one who remains strong in the faith will be saved.

Our fight is not against human beings. It is against the rulers, the authorities and the powers of this dark world. It is against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world.

‘ I know that you suffer and are poor. But you are rich! Some people say they are Jews but are not. I know that their words are evil. Their worship comes from Satan.

But the one who remains strong in the faith will be saved.

Daniel said to him,“ Please test us for ten days. Give us nothing but vegetables to eat. And give us only water to drink.

So the guard agreed. He tested them for ten days.

Whoever wants to save their life will lose it. But whoever loses their life for me and for the good news will save it.

The great dragon was thrown down to the earth, and his angels with him. The dragon is that old serpent called the devil, or Satan. He leads the whole world astray.Then I heard a loud voice in heaven. It said,“ Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God have come. The authority of his Messiah has come. Satan, who brings charges against our brothers and sisters, has been thrown down. He brings charges against them in front of our God day and night.They had victory over him by the blood the Lamb spilled for them. They had victory over him by speaking the truth about Jesus to others. They were willing to risk their lives, even if it led to death.

He asked,“ Why are you crying? Why are you breaking my heart? I’m ready to be put in prison. In fact, I’m ready to die in Jerusalem for the Lord Jesus.”

The second beast was allowed to give breath to this statue so it could speak. The statue could kill all who refused to worship it.It also forced everyone to receive a mark on their right hand or on their forehead. People great or small, rich or poor, free or slave had to receive the mark.They could not buy or sell anything unless they had the mark. The mark is the name of the beast or the number of its name.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but can’t kill the soul. Instead, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

“ But before all this, people will arrest you and treat you badly. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison. You will be brought to kings and governors. All this will happen to you because of my name.

I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.Now there is a crown waiting for me. It is given to those who are right with God. The Lord, who judges fairly, will give it to me on the day he returns. He will not give it only to me. He will also give it to all those who are longing for him to return.

Anyone who loves their life will lose it. But anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it and have eternal life.

The beast was allowed to make war against God’s holy people and to overcome them. It was given authority over every tribe, people and nation, no matter what language they spoke.

Because you know all this, you have great joy. You have joy even though you may have had to suffer for a little while. You may have had to suffer sadness in all kinds of trouble.Your troubles have come in order to prove that your faith is real. Your faith is worth more than gold. That’s because gold can pass away even when fire has made it pure. Your faith is meant to bring praise, honor and glory to God. This will happen when Jesus Christ returns.

“ My friends, listen to me. Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body but can’t do any more than that.I will show you whom you should be afraid of. Be afraid of the one who has the authority to throw you into hell after you have been killed. Yes, I tell you, be afraid of him.Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? But God does not forget even one of them.In fact, he even counts every hair on your head! So don’t be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.

The beast I saw looked like a leopard. But it had feet like a bear and a mouth like a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power, his throne, and great authority.

As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him,“ Do quickly what you are going to do.”

Be watchful and control yourselves. Your enemy the devil is like a roaring lion. He prowls around looking for someone to swallow up.

They were having their evening meal. The devil had already tempted Judas, son of Simon Iscariot. He had urged Judas to hand Jesus over to his enemies.

You used to live as sinners when you followed the ways of this world. You served the one who rules over the spiritual forces of evil. He is the spirit who is now at work in those who don’t obey God.

But my life means nothing to me. My only goal is to finish the race. I want to complete the work the Lord Jesus has given me. He wants me to tell others about the good news of God’s grace.

All who take part in the games train hard. They do it to get a crown that will not last. But we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

The message I give you waits for the time I have appointed. It speaks about what is going to happen. And all of it will come true. It might take a while. But wait for it. You can be sure it will come. It will happen when I want it to.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him. They said,“ King Nebuchadnezzar, we don’t need to talk about this anymore.We might be thrown into the blazing furnace. But the God we serve is able to bring us out of it alive. He will save us from your power.But we want you to know this, Your Majesty. Even if we knew that our God wouldn’t save us, we still wouldn’t serve your gods. We wouldn’t worship the gold statue you set up.”
