“ To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands.

“ Here is what I command you to write to the church in Ephesus. Here are the words of Jesus, who holds the seven stars in his right hand. He also walks among the seven golden lampstands. He says,

他的右手拿著七星，有一把兩刃的利劍從他口中吐出來；他的臉發光好像正午的烈日。

你所看見在我右手中的七星和七個金燈臺的奧祕就是這樣：七星是七個教會的使者，七燈臺是七個教會。”

說：“你所看見的，要寫在書上，也要寄給以弗所、士每拿、別迦摩、推雅推拉、撒狄、非拉鐵非、老底嘉七個教會。”我轉過身來要看看那跟我說話的聲音是誰發的；一轉過來，就看見七個金燈臺。燈臺中間有一位好像人子的，身上穿著直垂到腳的長衣，胸間束著金帶。

“你要寫信給在撒狄教會的使者，說：‘那有神七靈和七星的這樣說：我知道你的行為，你有名聲，說你是活著的，其實你是死的。

“你要寫信給在別迦摩教會的使者，說：‘那有一把兩刃利劍的，這樣說：

“你要寫信給在非拉鐵非教會的使者，說：‘那聖潔的、真實的，拿著大衛的鑰匙，開了就沒有人能關，關了就沒有人能開的（“拿著大衛的鑰匙……沒有人能開的”引自賽22:22），這樣說：

“你要寫信給在推雅推拉教會的使者，說：‘神的兒子，那眼睛像火燄、兩腳像光銅的，這樣說：

“你要寫信給在老底嘉教會的使者，說：‘那位阿們的，忠信真實的見證人，神創造萬有的根源，這樣說：

“你要寫信給在士每拿教會的使者，說：‘那首先的、末後的、曾經死去而又活過來的，這樣說：

因為無論在哪裡，有兩三個人奉我的名聚會，我就在他們中間。”

我吩咐你們的一切，都要教導他們遵守。這樣，我就常常與你們同在，直到這世代的終結。”

第三位天使吹號，就有一顆燃燒著的大星，好像火把一樣，從天上落下來，落在江河的三分之一上，和眾水的泉源上。這星名叫“苦堇”。眾水的三分之一變為“苦堇”，因水變苦，就有許多人因為這水而死了。第四位天使吹號，太陽的三分之一、月亮的三分之一、星辰的三分之一，就都受到擊打，以致日月星的三分之一都變黑了，白天的三分之一沒有光，夜晚也是這樣。

你曾在伊甸、神的園中，有各樣的寶石作你的衣服，就是紅寶石、黃玉、金鋼石、水蒼玉、紅瑪瑙、碧玉、藍寶石、綠寶石和翡翠；寶石座是用金製造的，這些都是在你被造的日子就預備好了的。你是護衛寶座的、受膏的基路伯；我安置你在神的聖山上，你在閃耀如火的寶石中間行走。

那時，天上出現了一個奇偉的景象：有一個婦人，身披太陽，腳踏月亮，頭戴十二顆星的冠冕。

約翰是一盞點亮的燈，你們情願暫時在他的光中歡樂。
