“ The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. (niv)

One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me,“ Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” (niv)

The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. (niv)

As a young man marries a young woman, so will your Builder marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you. (niv)

Come out to meet him!’“ Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps.The foolish ones said to the wise,‘ Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’“‘ No,’ they replied,‘ there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’“ But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. (niv)

Listen, daughter, and pay careful attention: Forget your people and your father’s house.Let the king be enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord.The city of Tyre will come with a gift, people of wealth will seek your favor.All glorious is the princess within her chamber; her gown is interwoven with gold.In embroidered garments she is led to the king; her virgin companions follow her— those brought to be with her.Led in with joy and gladness, they enter the palace of the king.Your sons will take the place of your fathers; you will make them princes throughout the land. like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. (niv)

come out, and look, you daughters of Zion. Look on King Solomon wearing a crown, the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, the day his heart rejoiced. (niv)

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. (niv)
