世上諸王、素與行淫而奢華者、見所焚之煙、則為之哭而擗、

天下諸王、素與巴比倫行淫、專事華靡、見厥火炎炎、必哭之哀、

天下諸王、素與彼行淫、奢侈宴樂、見焚之之煙、必為之悲痛號泣、

世之百王與之共淫、而同享侈泰者、必將目擊其火焰、而號咷大哭；

因為列國都被她荒淫的烈酒灌醉了。地上的君王曾經與她通姦，地上的商人也因她窮奢極侈的生活而發了財。」

他們又歡呼說：「哈利路亞！焚燒大淫婦的煙不斷上騰，直到永永遠遠。」

看見燒她的煙，就說，『有哪一座城能與她相比呢？』

沿海諸王因你而恐懼，都從寶座上下來，除去王袍，脫掉錦衣，坐在地上發抖。他們必為你唱哀歌說，你這海上眾民居住的名城，向來稱雄海上，威震鄰邦，現在怎麼被毀滅了呢？

他們受煎熬所發出的煙不斷上升，永無休止。那些拜獸、獸像和接受了獸名印記的人晝夜不得安寧。」

巴比倫被毀滅的消息震動天下，呼喊聲傳到列國。

上天啊，眾聖徒、眾使徒和眾先知啊，為她的下場歡樂吧！因為上帝已經向她施行報應，為你們伸冤了。」

她過去怎樣自炫自耀、奢華荒淫，現在也要讓她怎樣痛苦哀傷。因為她心裡說，『我貴為女王，不是寡婦，絕不會經歷哀傷。』

遍地將是硫磺和鹽，無法耕種，寸草不生，如同耶和華盛怒之下毀滅的所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪和洗扁。

以東的河流要變為瀝青，土壤要變成硫磺，大地要成為燃燒的瀝青，晝夜燃燒，濃煙滾滾，永不止息。以東必世世代代荒廢，人蹤絕跡。

「『我把你滅亡的消息帶到你不認識的列邦時，必使許多人惶恐不安。我在他們面前揮刀攻擊你的時候，各國的人都必因你而驚駭，他們的君王必膽戰心驚。在你傾覆那天，他們都必時刻為自己的性命戰戰兢兢。』

巴比倫在列國中輝煌無比，是迦勒底人的榮耀，但上帝必毀滅她，好像毀滅所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣。

他大聲說，砍倒那棵樹，削掉它的枝子，剝光它的葉子，拋散它的果子，使野獸逃離樹下，飛鳥離開枝頭。

焚燒之地——陀斐特早已為亞述王預備好了，那裡又寬又深，堆著許多木柴，耶和華的氣必如同一股硫磺火點燃那些木柴。

上帝要毀滅巴比倫，像毀滅所多瑪、蛾摩拉及其周圍的城邑一樣，使那裡人煙絕跡。這是耶和華說的。

義人必因惡人遭報而歡欣，並用惡人的血洗腳。

你看見的那十個角象徵另外十個還沒有得勢的王，他們將取得王權和那怪獸一同統治短暫的一段時期。他們一致同意把自己所有的能力和權柄交給那怪獸。

松樹啊，哀號吧，因為香柏樹已經倒下，挺拔的樹木已被毀壞。巴珊的橡樹啊，哀號吧，因為茂密的樹林已被砍倒。聽啊，牧人在哀號，因為他們肥美的草場已被毀壞。聽啊，獅子在吼叫，因為約旦河畔的叢林已被毀壞。

向所多瑪、蛾摩拉和整個平原眺望，只見那裡濃煙滾滾，好像火窯的煙一樣。
