故一日間、諸災並臻、即死亡悲哀饑荒、盡焚以火、蓋鞫之之主上帝、乃有能者也、

故頃刻間、災害數至、即饑饉、痛哭、死亡、火爇、蓋鞫之之上帝、乃大能之主、

故一日之間、其災齊至、即死亡哀哭饑饉、亦被火焚、蓋審判之主天主、其能至大、

詎料一旦眾災咸臨、死喪、憂戚、飢饉、紛至沓來、終至付諸一炬；蓋黜陟之主、乃全能之主宰也。

Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her: death, mourning and famine. She will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.

But she will be plagued by death, sadness and hunger. In a single day she will suffer all these plagues. She will be burned up by fire. That’s because the Lord God who judges her is mighty.

For this reason her plagues will come in a single day, death and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for mighty is the Lord God who has judged her.”

Their Redeemer is strong; The Lord of hosts is His name. He will thoroughly plead their case, That He may give rest to the land, And disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

“ Behold, I am against you, O most haughty one!” says the Lord GOD of hosts;“ For your day has come, The time that I will punish you.

“ The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning,standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying,‘ Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’

And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire.

“ They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying,‘ Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.’

For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance

Flee from the midst of Babylon, And every one save his life! Do not be cut off in her iniquity, For this is the time of the LORD’s vengeance; He shall recompense her.

Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?

Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, And her high gates shall be burned with fire; The people will labor in vain, And the nations, because of the fire; And they shall be weary.”

And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.”

saying:“ We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.

But these two things shall come to you In a moment, in one day: The loss of children, and widowhood. They shall come upon you in their fullness Because of the multitude of your sorceries, For the great abundance of your enchantments.“ For you have trusted in your wickedness; You have said,‘ No one sees me’; Your wisdom and your knowledge have warped you; And you have said in your heart,‘ I am, and there is no one else besides me.’Therefore evil shall come upon you; You shall not know from where it arises. And trouble shall fall upon you; You will not be able to put it off. And desolation shall come upon you suddenly, Which you shall not know.

God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God.

In that day the Lord with His severe sword, great and strong, Will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan that twisted serpent; And He will slay the reptile that is in the sea.

Again they said,“ Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!”

If it is a matter of strength, indeed He is strong; And if of justice, who will appoint my day in court?
