故一日間、諸災並臻、即死亡悲哀饑荒、盡焚以火、蓋鞫之之主上帝、乃有能者也、

故頃刻間、災害數至、即饑饉、痛哭、死亡、火爇、蓋鞫之之上帝、乃大能之主、

故一日之間、其災齊至、即死亡哀哭饑饉、亦被火焚、蓋審判之主天主、其能至大、

詎料一旦眾災咸臨、死喪、憂戚、飢饉、紛至沓來、終至付諸一炬；蓋黜陟之主、乃全能之主宰也。

Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her: death, mourning and famine. She will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.

Their Redeemer[ is] strong; the LORD of hosts[ is] his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

Behold, I[ am] against thee,[ O thou] most proud, saith the Lord GOD of hosts: for thy day is come, the time[ that] I will visit thee.

And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this[ is] the time of the LORD’S vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.

Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the folk in the fire, and they shall be weary.

And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

But these two[ things] shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries,[ and] for the great abundance of thine enchantments.For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I[ am], and none else beside me.Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly,[ which] thou shalt not know.

God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power[ belongeth] unto God.

In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that[ is] in the sea.

And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

If[ I speak] of strength, lo,[ he is] strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time[ to plead]?
