and began to shout when they saw the smoke from the fire that burned her up,“ Who is like the great city?”

他们看着焚烧她时的烟，呼喊说：“哪一个城能与这大城相比呢？”

他們看見了焚燒她的煙，就喊叫說：‘有哪一座城能與這大城相比呢？’

看見她被焚燒的煙就喊着說：『哪一個城能比得過那大城呢？』

他們看著焚燒她時的煙，呼喊說：「哪一個城能與這大城相比呢？」

見所焚之煙、皆遠立、呼曰、孰若此大邑乎、

見厥火炎炎、呼曰、誰能與大邑比儗乎、

見焚彼之煙、呼曰、何邑能比此大邑乎、

共對大火而驚呼曰：「天下萬城、誰堪比之。」

When they see the smoke of her burning, they will exclaim,‘ Was there ever a city like this great city?’

They will see the smoke rising as Babylon burns. They will ask,‘ Was there ever a city like this great city?’

and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning,“ What city was like the great city?”

They will cry out as they watch the smoke ascend, and they will say,“ Where is there another city as great as this?”

as they watched the smoke from her burning and kept crying out,“ Who was like the great city?”

and were crying out as they saw the smoke of her burning, saying,‘ What city is like the great city?’

and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying,‘ What is like this great city?’

and cried out as they looked upon the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like the great city?

as they watched the smoke from her burning and kept crying out:“ Who is like the great city?”

And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What[ city is] like unto this great city!

and cried out as they looked at the smoke of her burning, saying,‘ What is like the great city?’

they worshiped the dragon because he had given ruling authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast too, saying:“ Who is like the beast?” and“ Who is able to make war against him?”

Then the kings of the earth who committed immoral acts with her and lived in sensual luxury with her will weep and wail for her when they see the smoke from the fire that burns her up.They will stand a long way off because they are afraid of her torment, and will say,“ Woe, woe, O great city, Babylon the powerful city! For in a single hour your doom has come!”

They will lament loudly over you and cry bitterly. They will throw dust on their heads and roll in the ashes;they will tear out their hair because of you and put on sackcloth, and they will weep bitterly over you with intense mourning.As they wail they will lament over you, chanting:“ Who was like Tyre, like a tower in the midst of the sea?”

Babylon will become a heap of ruins. Jackals will make their home there. It will become an object of horror and of hissing scorn, a place where no one lives.

Who planned this for royal Tyre, whose merchants are princes, whose traders are the dignitaries of the earth?The LORD who commands armies planned it– to dishonor the pride that comes from all her beauty, to humiliate all the dignitaries of the earth.
