说：“有祸了！有祸了！宏大的城，那曾身穿细麻、紫色、深红色衣服，以金子、宝石、珍珠为装饰的城啊！

哀哉！哀哉！這大城啊，素常穿着細麻、紫色、朱紅色的衣服，又用金子、寶石，和珍珠為妝飾。

說：「禍哉，禍哉，這大城！她穿着細麻、紫色、朱紅色的衣服，用金子、寶石、珍珠為妝飾。

說，『身穿紫色和朱紅色的細麻布衣服，以黃金、寶石、珍珠為裝飾的大城啊，真悲慘！真悲慘！

說：‘有禍了！有禍了！這大城啊！就是一向穿著細麻布、紫色、朱紅色的衣服，佩戴著金子、寶石和珍珠裝飾的，

『有禍啊！有禍啊！那大城！那披着細麻、紫袍和朱紅袍、用金子、寶石、珍珠、為妝飾的！

說：「有禍了！有禍了！宏大的城，那曾身穿細麻、紫色、深紅色衣服，以金子、寶石、珍珠為裝飾的城啊！

曰、禍哉、禍哉、大邑乎、素衣枲布紫絳、飾以金珠寶石者乎、

大邑素衣細布紫絳、飾金玉珠璣、頃刻間、富有遂至貧乏、嗚呼哀哉、

曰、此大邑衣以枲布紫絳之衣、飾以金珠寶石、富有如此之大、頃刻間消滅、哀哉、哀哉、

「哀哉大邑、昔以純紵紫絳為衣、金玉珠璣為飾；

and cry out:“‘ Woe! Woe to you, great city, dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet, and glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls!

They will cry out,“‘ How terrible! How terrible it is for you, great city, dressed in fine linen, purple and bright red! How terrible for you, great city, gleaming with gold, jewels and pearls!

“ Alas, alas, for the great city that was clothed in fine linen, in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold, with jewels, and with pearls!

“ How terrible, how terrible for that great city! She was clothed in finest purple and scarlet linens, decked out with gold and precious stones and pearls!

saying,“ Woe, woe, O great city– dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet clothing, and adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls–

saying,‘ Woe, woe, the great city, she who was dressed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls!

The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls, holding in her hand a gold cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her sexual immorality,

“ Now there was a rich man, and he habitually dressed in purple and fine linen, enjoying himself in splendor every day.And a poor man named Lazarus was laid at his gate, covered with sores,and longing to be fed from the scraps which fell from the rich man’s table; not only that, the dogs also were coming and licking his sores.Now it happened that the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s arms; and the rich man also died and was buried.And in Hades he raised his eyes, being in torment, and* saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his arms.And he cried out and said,‘ Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.’But Abraham said,‘ Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony.And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set, so that those who want to go over from here to you will not be able, nor will any people cross over from there to us.’And he said,‘ Then I request of you, father, that you send him to my father’s house—for I have five brothers— in order that he may warn them, so that they will not come to this place of torment as well.’But Abraham* said,‘ They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’But he said,‘ No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!’But he said to him,‘ If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”

standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, saying,‘ Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’“ And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their cargo any more—

And they threw dust on their heads and were crying out, weeping and mourning, saying,‘ Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had ships at sea became rich from her prosperity, for in one hour she has been laid waste!’
