说：“有祸了！有祸了！宏大的城，那曾身穿细麻、紫色、深红色衣服，以金子、宝石、珍珠为装饰的城啊！

哀哉！哀哉！這大城啊，素常穿着細麻、紫色、朱紅色的衣服，又用金子、寶石，和珍珠為妝飾。

說：「有禍了！有禍了！宏大的城，那曾身穿細麻、紫色、深紅色衣服，以金子、寶石、珍珠為裝飾的城啊！

大邑素衣細布紫絳、飾金玉珠璣、頃刻間、富有遂至貧乏、嗚呼哀哉、

曰、此大邑衣以枲布紫絳之衣、飾以金珠寶石、富有如此之大、頃刻間消滅、哀哉、哀哉、

「哀哉大邑、昔以純紵紫絳為衣、金玉珠璣為飾；

and cry out:“‘ Woe! Woe to you, great city, dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet, and glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls!

婦衣紫絳、飾以金玉珠璣、手執金杯、滿貯穢惡、即其淫污也、

有富者衣紫袍枲布、日事華靡宴樂、又有乞者、名拉撒路、通體生瘍、置於富者之門、欲食富者几下遺屑、犬來舐其瘍、乞者死、天使扶至亞伯拉罕之懷、富者亦死而葬、陰間痛苦之際、舉目遙見亞伯拉罕、有拉撒路在其懷、遂呼曰、我祖亞伯拉罕乎、矜恤我、遣拉撒路以指尖蘸水涼我舌、蓋我在此火燄中苦甚、亞伯拉罕曰、子乎、當憶爾生時、受諸福、拉撒路受諸難、今彼慰、而爾苦焉、不第此也、爾我間限以巨淵、欲由此赴爾不能也、由彼過我、亦不能也、曰、若是、求祖遣拉撒路往我父家、我有兄弟五人、使彼證之、免其亦來此痛苦之處也、亞伯拉罕曰、彼有摩西及諸先知、可聽之也、對曰、祖亞伯拉罕乎、非也、若有由死而就之者、彼必改悔矣、曰、不聽摩西與先知、即有自死而起者、彼亦不受勸也、

因其痛苦而懼、則遠立曰、禍哉、禍哉、大巴比倫鞏固之邑乎、半時間爾之鞫至矣、世上諸商、亦為之哭而哀、因不復見有人購其貨也、

又以塵蒙首哭而哀、呼曰、禍哉、禍哉、大邑乎、凡有舟於海者、自其豐厚而致富、半時間成為荒墟矣、
