那些買他們的，殺戮他們卻不承受罪責；那些賣他們的，說：『耶和華是當受頌讚的！因為我變得富有了。』他們的牧人不憐恤他們。」

女僕的主人們看見他們的生意沒有希望了，就揪住保羅和賽拉斯，把他們拖到街市上去見首領們。

耶穌教導他們說：「經上不是記著『我的殿將被稱為萬國禱告的殿』嗎？而你們卻使它成為賊窩了！」

他們因懼怕她所受的折磨，就遠遠地站著，說：「有禍了！有禍了！宏大的城，強大的巴比倫城啊！因為一時之間，你的審判就來到了！」地上的商人也為她哭泣、悲傷，因為再也沒有人買他們的貨物了；
