爾心所嗜之果已去、爾之珍饈華采皆亡、不復見之、

向所嗜果實安在、珍奇華彩無存、不可復得、

巴比倫乎、爾所嗜之果實無有矣、肥美光澤之物亦無有矣、爾不復能得之、

巴比倫乎、爾向所貪戀繁華之果、今已蕩然無存；雖欲覓之、亦不可得矣。

“ They will say,‘ The fruit you longed for is gone from you. All your luxury and splendor have vanished, never to be recovered.’

“ The merchants will say,‘ The pleasure you longed for has left you. All your riches and glory have disappeared forever.’

“ The fruit for which your soul longed has gone from you, and all your delicacies and your splendors are lost to you, never to be found again!”

“ The fancy things you loved so much are gone,” they cry.“ All your luxuries and splendor are gone forever, never to be yours again.”

The fruit you craved has left you. All your splendid and glamorous things are gone; they will never find them again.

The fruit you long for has left you, and all things that were luxurious and splendid have passed away from you and people will no longer find them.

The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all.

And the fruits which thy soul lusted after are gone from thee, and all things that were dainty and sumptuous are perished from thee, and men shall find them no more at all.

The fruit you craved has left you. All your splendid and glamorous things are gone; they will never find them again.

And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

( The ripe fruit you greatly desired has gone from you, and all your luxury and splendor have gone from you– they will never ever be found again!)

The fruits which your soul lusted after have been lost to you. All things that were dainty and sumptuous have perished from you, and you will find them no more at all.

亚伯拉罕说：‘孩子啊，你该回想你生前享过福，拉撒路也同样受过苦，如今他在这里得安慰，你却受痛苦。

因为凡世界上的东西，好比肉体的情欲、眼目的情欲和今生的骄傲，都不是从父来的，而是从世界来的。这世界和世上的情欲都要消逝，惟独那遵行上帝旨意的人永远常存。

他们中间的闲杂人动了贪欲的心；以色列人又再哭着说：“谁给我们肉吃呢？

反倒在旷野起了贪婪之心，在荒地试探上帝。

你们贪恋，得不着就杀人；你们嫉妒，不能得手就起争执和冲突；你们得不着，是因为你们不求。

上帝却对他说：‘无知的人哪！今夜就要你的性命，你所预备的要归谁呢？’

那地方就叫基博罗‧哈他瓦，因为他们在那里埋葬了贪欲的百姓。

他们心中试探上帝，随自己所欲的求食物，

这些事都是我们的鉴戒，使我们不要贪恋恶事，像他们贪恋过的一样。
