This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666.

“ So when you see standing in the holy place‘ the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel— let the reader understand—

So I asked,“ My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”He replied,“ Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end.Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”

The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.”

Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns.

Who is wise? Let them realize these things. Who is discerning? Let them understand. The ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.
