我必用潔淨的水灑在你們身上，你們就潔淨了；我必潔淨你們的一切污穢，使你們遠離所有可憎的像。

因此，你要對以色列家說：‘主耶和華這樣說：你們還照著你們祖先所行的玷污自己嗎？仍隨著他們可憎的偶像行邪淫嗎？

就是你曾藉著你的僕人眾先知所吩咐的。你說：你們進去要得為業之地是污穢的，充滿了當地民族的污穢，他們可憎的事使這地從這邊到那邊都充滿了他們的不潔。

不要讓人用任何方法迷惑了你們，因為主的日子來到以前，必定有背道的事，並且那不法的人，就是那沉淪之子，必定顯露出來。他抵擋神，抬舉自己，高過一切稱為神或受人敬拜的，甚至坐在神的殿中，自稱為神。我還在你們那裡的時候，曾經把這些事告訴你們，你們不記得嗎？現在你們也知道，那箝制他，使他到了時候才可以顯露出來的是甚麼。因為那不法的潛力已經發動，只是現在有一個箝制他的在那裡，直等到那箝制解除了，那時，這不法的人必要顯露出來。主耶穌要用自己口中的氣除掉他，以自己再來所顯現的光輝消滅他。這不法的人來到，是照著撒但的行動，行各樣的異能奇蹟和荒誕的事，並且在那些沉淪的人身上，行各樣不義的欺詐，因為他們不領受愛真理的心，使他們得救。

又有第二位天使接著說：“傾倒了！大巴比倫傾倒了！它曾經叫列國喝它淫亂烈怒的酒。”

他行耶和華看為惡的事，好像耶和華在以色列人面前趕走的民族所行的可憎惡的事。

她的污穢沾滿了衣裙；她從不思想自己的結局。所以她令人驚異地敗落了；沒有人安慰她。她說：“耶和華啊！求你看看我的苦難，因為仇敵顯為大。”

“我遇見以色列，好像在曠野裡遇見葡萄。我看見你們的列祖，像看見無花果樹初熟的果子。他們卻來到巴力．毘珥，專作羞恥的事，成為可憎惡的，像他們所愛的偶像一樣。

他倒要敬拜堡壘的神，用金銀寶石和各樣珍寶去敬拜他列祖所不認識的神。

因為他的審判是真實公義的。他審判了那大淫婦，那以淫亂敗壞了世界的；並且為他的僕人向淫婦伸了流血的冤。”

宰牛獻祭，又殺人，獻羊羔為祭，又打折狗的頸項；獻上素祭，又獻上豬血；燒乳香作記念祭，又稱頌虛無之神；他們選擇他們自己的道路，他們的心裡喜悅他們那些可憎惡的事。

你的污穢就是淫蕩。我想要潔淨你，你卻不願意潔淨，所以你的污穢再不能得到潔淨，直等到我向你發的烈怒止息。

她怎樣待人，你們也要怎樣待她；照著她所作的，加倍報應她；用她調酒的杯，加倍調給她。她怎樣炫耀自己，怎樣奢華揮霍，你們也要怎樣給她痛苦悲哀。因為她心裡常常說：‘我坐著作女王，我不是寡婦，決不會看見悲哀。’

國內又有男妓，他們仿效耶和華在以色列人面前所趕出的外族人，行了一切可憎的事。

然後把空鍋放在炭火上，使鍋燒熱，使銅燒紅，使其中的污穢熔化，使它的鏽得以除淨。

你們也見過他們的可憎之物，和他們那裡那些木、石、金、銀的偶像。
