And Jesus came and said to them,“ All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.

Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

“ Behold, like a lion coming up from the thicket of the Jordan against a perennial pasture, I will suddenly make them run away from her, and I will appoint over her whomever I choose. For who is like me? Who will summon me? What shepherd can stand before me?

Let the godly exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their beds.Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands,to execute vengeance on the nations and punishments on the peoples,to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron,to execute on them the judgment written! This is honor for all his godly ones. Praise the Lord!

Without warning he shall come into the richest parts of the province, and he shall do what neither his fathers nor his fathers’ fathers have done, scattering among them plunder, spoil, and goods. He shall devise plans against strongholds, but only for a time.And he shall stir up his power and his heart against the king of the south with a great army. When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood,and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale.The sky vanished like a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.Then the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains,calling to the mountains and rocks,“ Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb,for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?”

The Lord is at your right hand; he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath.

And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever,

Your hand will find out all your enemies; your right hand will find out those who hate you.You will make them as a blazing oven when you appear. The Lord will swallow them up in his wrath, and fire will consume them.You will destroy their descendants from the earth, and their offspring from among the children of man.Though they plan evil against you, though they devise mischief, they will not succeed.For you will put them to flight; you will aim at their faces with your bows.

And the King will answer them,‘ Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession,who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God’s house.

As I looked, this horn made war with the saints and prevailed over them,
