约书亚对亚干说：“我儿，我劝你把荣耀归给耶和华以色列的神，向他认罪，告诉我你作了什么事，不可向我隐瞒。”

耶和华啊！你的眼目不是要看诚实的事吗？你击打他们，他们却不觉得伤痛；你摧毁他们，他们仍不肯接受管教。他们板着脸，脸皮比磐石还硬，总不肯回转。

又怕我再来的时候，我的神使我在你们面前羞愧；并且我要为许多从前犯罪的人哀痛，因为他们行了污秽、奸淫、邪荡的事，却不肯悔改。

风箱猛烈地吹，铅在火中销熔；他们炼而又炼，徒劳无功，因为邪恶的仍未除去。人要称他们为被弃的银渣，因为耶和华把他们弃绝了。

他和众长老还在说话的时候，看哪，王（“王”原文作“使者”）就下到他那里，说：“看哪，这灾祸是从耶和华来的，我为什么还仰望耶和华呢？”

不是的，我告诉你们，你们若不悔改，也都要这样灭亡。”

这亚哈斯王在急难的时候，竟越发冒犯耶和华。

其余没有在这些灾难中被杀的人，仍然不为他们手所作的悔改，还是去拜鬼魔和那些金、银、铜、石头、木头做的，不能看、不能听、也不能走路的偶像。

不是的，我告诉你们，你们若不悔改，都要这样灭亡。

第五位天使把碗倒在兽的座位上，兽的国就黑暗了。人因为痛苦就咬自己的舌头。他们又因为所受的痛苦和所生的疮，亵渎天上的神，并不为自己所作的悔改。
