This is what the LORD says: Here is how you will know that I am the LORD. Watch. There will be blood throughout the land of Egypt, even in wooden and stone containers.”Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded; in the sight of Pharaoh and his officials, he raised the staff and struck the water in the Nile, and all the water in the Nile was turned to blood.

He spoke with a loud voice:“ Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship the one who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.”

I heard the angel of the waters say, You are just, the Holy One, who is and who was, because you have passed judgment on these things.

Why was no one there when I came? Why was there no one to answer when I called? Is my arm too weak to redeem? Or do I have no power to rescue? Look, I dry up the sea by my rebuke; I turn the rivers into a wilderness; their fish rot because of lack of water and die of thirst.

Although he flourishes among his brothers, an east wind will come, a wind from the LORD rising up from the desert. His water source will fail, and his spring will run dry. The wind will plunder the treasury of every precious item.

The LORD then said to Moses,“ Tell Aaron: Stretch out your hand with your staff over the rivers, canals, and ponds, and cause the frogs to come up onto the land of Egypt.”

I will fill its mountains with the slain; those slain by the sword will fall on your hills, in your valleys, and in all your ravines.
