Come, trample the grapes, for the winepress is full and the vats overflow— so great is their wickedness!”Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder,and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says,“ Let us follow other gods”( gods you have not known)“ and let us worship them,”

For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ.And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people.Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.

One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast.

For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”

And I heard the altar respond:“ Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and just are your judgments.”

Come near, you nations, and listen; pay attention, you peoples! Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, the world, and all that comes out of it!The Lord is angry with all nations; his wrath is on all their armies. He will totally destroy them, he will give them over to slaughter.Their slain will be thrown out, their dead bodies will stink; the mountains will be soaked with their blood.All the stars in the sky will be dissolved and the heavens rolled up like a scroll; all the starry host will fall like withered leaves from the vine, like shriveled figs from the fig tree.My sword has drunk its fill in the heavens; see, it descends in judgment on Edom, the people I have totally destroyed.The sword of the Lord is bathed in blood, it is covered with fat— the blood of lambs and goats, fat from the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.And the wild oxen will fall with them, the bull calves and the great bulls. Their land will be drenched with blood, and the dust will be soaked with fat.For the Lord has a day of vengeance, a year of retribution, to uphold Zion’s cause.

The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie,

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.

Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson? Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength?“ It is I, proclaiming victory, mighty to save.”Why are your garments red, like those of one treading the winepress?“ I have trodden the winepress alone; from the nations no one was with me. So the king of Israel brought together the prophets— about four hundred men— and asked them,“ Shall I go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I refrain?”“ Go,” they answered,“ for the Lord will give it into the king’s hand.”

After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety.You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land.“‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: On that day thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil scheme.You will say,“ I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people— all of them living without walls and without gates and bars.I will plunder and loot and turn my hand against the resettled ruins and the people gathered from the nations, rich in livestock and goods, living at the center of the land.”
