以其瘍痛甚、謗讟天上上帝、不悔改所為、

且因生瘡痛苦、謗讟天上之主、不悔改所為、

不堪瘡痍之苦、而謗讟天主；猶不知痛悔諸業、而改絃易轍。

人被炎热所烤，就亵渎那有权掌管这些灾难的上帝的名，他们没有悔改，也没有把荣耀归给上帝。

第一位天使去，把碗倾倒在地上，就有又臭又毒的疮生在那些有兽的印记和拜兽像的人身上。

又有大冰雹从天掉落在人身上，每一个约重一他连得，以致人因冰雹的灾难而亵渎上帝，因为那灾难太大了。

正在那时候，地大震动，城倒塌了十分之一；因地震而死的有七千人，其余的都恐惧，归荣耀给天上的上帝。

我曾给她悔改的机会，她却不肯悔改她的淫行。

“我亚达薛西王又降旨达于河西所有的司库：‘精通天上之上帝律法的以斯拉祭司文士无论向你们要什么，你们要速速办理，

要他们祈求天上的上帝施怜悯，将这奥秘指明，免得但以理和他的同伴与巴比伦其余的智慧人一同灭亡。这奥秘就在夜间异象中显明给但以理，但以理就称颂天上的上帝。

只是作恶的和骗人的将变本加厉，迷惑人也被人迷惑。

我听见这话，就坐下哭泣，悲哀几日，在天上的上帝面前禁食祈祷，

“诸王之王亚达薛西，达于精通天上之上帝律法的以斯拉祭司文士等等：现在

他们这样回答我们说：‘我们是天和地之上帝的仆人，重建多年前所建造的殿，就是以色列一位伟大的君王建造完成的。但因我们祖先惹天上的上帝发怒，上帝把他们交在迦勒底人巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒的手中，他就拆毁这殿，又把百姓掳到巴比伦。

凡天上之上帝所吩咐的，当为天上之上帝的殿切实办理。何必使愤怒临到王和王众子的国呢？

好叫他们献馨香的祭给天上的上帝，又为王和王众子的寿命祈祷。

你们要称谢天上的上帝，因他的慈爱永远长存。

王对我说：“你想求什么？”于是我向天上的上帝祈祷。

当诸王在位的时候，天上的上帝必另立一个永不败坏的国度，这国度必不归给其他百姓，却要打碎灭绝所有的国度，存立到永远。

他说：“我是希伯来人，我敬畏耶和华，天上的上帝，他创造了沧海和陆地。”
