Then I saw the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with him were 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.

Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.

I looked, and there in front of me was the Lamb. He was standing on Mount Zion. With him were 144,000 people. Written on their foreheads were his name and his Father’s name.

All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of my God, and they will never have to leave it. And I will write on them the name of my God, and they will be citizens in the city of my God— the new Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from my God. And I will also write on them my new name.

For the Lord declares,“ I have placed my chosen king on the throne in Jerusalem, on my holy mountain.”

No, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering.You have come to the assembly of God’s firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge over all things. You have come to the spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made perfect.You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel.

But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, for some on Mount Zion in Jerusalem will escape, just as the Lord has said. These will be among the survivors whom the Lord has called.

“ Wait! Don’t harm the land or the sea or the trees until we have placed the seal of God on the foreheads of his servants.”And I heard how many were marked with the seal of God— 144,000 were sealed from all the tribes of Israel:from Judah 12,000 from Reuben 12,000 from Gad 12,000from Asher 12,000 from Naphtali 12,000 from Manasseh 12,000from Simeon 12,000 from Levi 12,000 from Issachar 12,000from Zebulun 12,000 from Joseph 12,000 from Benjamin 12,000After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands.And they were shouting with a great roar,“ Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!”And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living beings. And they fell before the throne with their faces to the ground and worshiped God.They sang,“ Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength belong to our God forever and ever! Amen.”Then one of the twenty four elders asked me,“ Who are these who are clothed in white? Where did they come from?”And I said to him,“ Sir, you are the one who knows.” Then he said to me,“ These are the ones who died in the great tribulation. They have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white.“ That is why they stand in front of God’s throne and serve him day and night in his Temple. And he who sits on the throne will give them shelter.They will never again be hungry or thirsty; they will never be scorched by the heat of the sun.For the Lamb on the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

Those who are weak will survive as a remnant; those who were exiles will become a strong nation. Then I, the Lord, will rule from Jerusalem as their king forever.”

But one of the twenty four elders said to me,“ Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals.”Then I saw a Lamb that looked as if it had been slaughtered, but it was now standing between the throne and the four living beings and among the twenty four elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the sevenfold Spirit of God that is sent out into every part of the earth.He stepped forward and took the scroll from the right hand of the one sitting on the throne.And when he took the scroll, the four living beings and the twenty four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp, and they held gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.And they sang a new song with these words:“ You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it. For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.

For the Lord has chosen Jerusalem; he has desired it for his home.“ This is my resting place forever,” he said.“ I will live here, for this is the home I desired.

And they sang in a mighty chorus:“ Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered— to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.”And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang:“ Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever.”

God warned them of this in the Scriptures when he said,“ I am placing a stone in Jerusalem that makes people stumble, a rock that makes them fall. But anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”

“ I tell you the truth, everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, the Son of Man will also acknowledge in the presence of God’s angels.

Then I looked and saw that the Temple in heaven, God’s Tabernacle, was thrown wide open.

Then I saw a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was someone like the Son of Man. He had a gold crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.

Yet Jerusalem says,“ The Lord has deserted us; the Lord has forgotten us.”

“ What do you see, Amos?” he asked. I replied,“ A basket full of ripe fruit.” Then the Lord said,“ Like this fruit, Israel is ripe for punishment! I will not delay their punishment again.

“ What do you see now?” he asked. I answered,“ I see a solid gold lampstand with a bowl of oil on top of it. Around the bowl are seven lamps, each having seven spouts with wicks.

He required everyone— small and great, rich and poor, free and slave— to be given a mark on the right hand or on the forehead.And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name.

Then I, Daniel, looked and saw two others standing on opposite banks of the river.

I looked up and saw a horse whose color was pale green. Its rider was named Death, and his companion was the Grave. These two were given authority over one fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword and famine and disease and wild animals.

Then the Lord said to me,“ Look, Jeremiah! What do you see?” And I replied,“ I see a branch from an almond tree.”

Then I looked and saw a hand reaching out to me. It held a scroll,

Then he brought me to the door of the Temple courtyard, where I could see a hole in the wall.

In my vision I saw what appeared to be a throne of blue lapis lazuli above the crystal surface over the heads of the cherubim.

As I looked, I saw a great storm coming from the north, driving before it a huge cloud that flashed with lightning and shone with brilliant light. There was fire inside the cloud, and in the middle of the fire glowed something like gleaming amber.

I looked, and each of the four cherubim had a wheel beside him, and the wheels sparkled like beryl.

Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said,“ Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.”

Then the man brought me through the north gateway to the front of the Temple. I looked and saw that the glory of the Lord filled the Temple of the Lord, and I fell face down on the ground.
