The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months.

The beast was given a mouth to brag and speak evil things against God. The beast was allowed to use its authority for 42 months.

我正在究察这些角的时候，看见角的中间长出另一个小角来。在这小角前面，有三个先前的角连根被拔起来。这小角有眼，像人的眼，又有一张说夸大话的嘴。

“那王必任意而行，自高自大，超过所有的神，又说一些怪诞的话攻击万神之神。他必行事顺利，直到神的忿怒完毕；因为所定的事必会实现。

他必说话，敌挡至高者；他必折磨至高者的圣民，又想改变节期和律法；圣民必交在他的手中，一载、二载、半载（“一载、二载、半载”或译：“一个时期、多个时期、半个时期”）。

妇人就逃到旷野去了，那里有神为她预备的地方。她在那里得供养一千二百六十天。

“那时，因那小角说夸大话的声音，我继续观看，看见那兽被杀，尸体被毁，扔在烈火中。

于是有大鹰的两个翅膀赐给了那妇人，使她可以飞到旷野，到自己的地方，在那里得供养一年两年半年，离开那蛇的面。

但圣所外面的院子，不要量它，因为它已经给了外族人，他们要践踏圣城四十二个月。我要赐能力给我那两个穿着麻衣的见证人，他们要传道一千二百六十天。”

他抵挡神，抬举自己，高过一切称为神或受人敬拜的，甚至坐在神的殿中，自称为神。

我又想知道有关它头上的十角，和那另长出来的小角，以及那三个在这小角前面倒下的角的实情。这小角有眼，有说夸大话的嘴；它的形状比它的同类更威猛。

他们作完了见证的时候，那从无底坑上来的兽要跟他们作战，胜过他们，把他们杀死。

它得了允许能跟圣徒作战，并且能胜过他们；又有权柄给了它，可以管辖各支派、各民族、各方言、各邦国。
