你看见的那兽，先前在、现今不在、将来要从无底坑上来，然后走向灭亡。住在世上的人，凡是名字在创世以来没有记在生命册上的，看见了那先前在、现今不在、将来还要出现的兽，就都要惊奇。

它得了能力，在头一只兽面前能行奇事，迷惑了住在地上的人，吩咐住在地上的人，要为那受过刀伤而还活着的兽做个像。

他们同心合意，把自己的权力权柄交给那兽。

神要众王行他的旨意，就把意念放在他们心中，叫他们同心把自己的国献给那兽，直到神的话都实现为止。

我又看见一只兽从海里上来，有十角七头，十角上戴着十个皇冠，七头上有亵渎的名号。我所看见的兽，样子好像豹，脚像熊的脚，口像狮子的口。龙把自己的能力、王位和大权柄，都交给了它。

它在头一只兽面前，行使头一只兽的一切权柄。它使全地和住在地上的人，都拜那受过致命伤而医好了的头一只兽。

城里大大小小都听从他，说：“这就是那称为‘神的大能’的人。”他们听从他，因为他长久用邪术，使他们惊奇。

“‘我必使巴比伦王的膀臂有力量，把我的刀交在他手中；我要折断法老的膀臂，使他在巴比伦王面前呻吟，像一个受伤快死的人一样。

也就是七位王：五位已经倒了，一位还在，另一位还没有来到；他来的时候，必须存留一会儿。

这不法的人来到，是照着撒但的行动，行各样的异能奇迹和荒诞的事，并且在那些沉沦的人身上，行各样不义的欺诈，因为他们不领受爱真理的心，使他们得救。因此，神就使错谬的思想运行在他们当中，让他们相信虚谎，叫所有不信真理倒喜爱不义的人，都被定罪。

连西门自己也信了，他受洗之后，常和腓利在一起，看见所发生的神迹和大能的事，就觉得很惊奇。

我又看见那妇人喝圣徒的血，和那为耶稣作见证的人的血，喝醉了。我看见了她，就大大惊奇。

于是法利赛人彼此说：“你们看，你们都是徒劳无功，世人都去跟随他了！”

那时，有谕旨从凯撒奥古士督颁发下来，叫普天下的人登记户口。
